I would be down to go out to Mineral Wells in Spetember I know I'll be at the event in October for sure.

I want to get this final drive in first lol. I called Jotech but they didn't really seem too familiar with the install and quoted me a little on the high side

No, because for about $120 more you can get the same wheels brand new with a non weaksauce offset off some of the eBay vendors.

Dont go there then........if they are not familiar with whats needed, then they are not the best choice...

Honestly dude, this isnt hard, hands down the easiest and the cheapest way to get this done is to:
1. jack up the rear of the car
2. remove the two plastic covers on each side fwd of the sway bar mounts
3. remove sway bar
4. remove diff
5. buy motul PA90a
6. print out the FSM section with all the backlash measurements.
7. Take diff in friends car to a transmission shop (they will have the backlash tools, gear teeth marker paint and the "know how" to do this swap correctly.
8. have them refil the diff with the motul and come home and reinstall in car.

if i were you, at the same time i would:

9 I would do a quaiffe (since your an autox guy)
10. nismo diff cover.
11. while you wait for the shop do to that crap, pay me and acidjake to do solid diff bushings while the diffs out.

because either way, one day your gonna need or want that ish ........and NO, the stock VLSD isnt good enough, dont lie to yourself....

I have.....but a tranny shop can do it cheaper if delivered as i mentioned as they already have the tools for the job and i would need to buy some...

ya, thats nuts, take the diff separate from the car to a tranny shop like mentioned...

super easy method:
sell your 4.08 gears and buy the entire 3.7 gear pumpkin and do a simple swap like shown here:
https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...z-3-538-a.html
and same thing, don't forget about steps 9-11 as well........quaiffe, nismo cover and spl's.....

-J

search purposes:
3.7 final drive, 3.7, infiniti rear diff, diff, pumpkin swap.

Yeah when they didn't sound like they knew much about the swap it sketched me out a bit. Plus $450 isn't much cheaper than the gear itself without the bearings and all the rebuild parts. Thanks for the DIY man! That will definitely save me a lot of time and money.

You're right it would probably be best to wait to do the entire differential at the same time. I think I'm going to stick with the 4.08 and go for either the quaife or the os giken lsd.
