Default I was rear ended this morning

So I am on my way to work sitting in traffic
I was at a complete stop and then all of a sudden boom

I remember hitting my head on the stearing wheel and coming back up then another boom came and my head whipped back again. No bag delployed either
:-(

I got rear ended by an older guy in an old BMW. He slammed in to me and my car jumped forward. Since he slammed in to me the car behind him did not have time nor space to stop so she hit him which caused him to hit me.

I got out of my car and the guy tried to blame it on me saying I caused this which was totall ******** - its hard to cause this when I havent moved until he hit me!

So once I told him that was bull he started blaming it on the lady behind him.....

He wasn't paying attention and was trying to blame it on everyone to get out of it...

I have pictures of the car - they do not do justice to the damage of it.
The back bumper is totally messed up you can touch it with your finger and it will bow in... The exhust sounds like **** and is bent and the hatch rattles and it hard to open

I will take more once my camera is charged up...

I am so sad and hurt

Sorry to hear about it.
Same thing happened to me a couple years ago while I was at a stop in my mustang. Kid behind me was busy with his girlfriend and rear ended me at 55mph. Kid's father (a tow truck driver) showed up and tried to place the blame on me. Needless to say he got raped by his insurance company for fraudulent claim.

Did local authorities or DPS show up at the scene?

What insurance company does he have? My brother used to be a claims rep for a certain company. He knows which ones won't undercut you. In my wreck, the other vehicles insurance was under State Farm. I basically had to hold out for 4 months until they gave me more of a realistic estimate. They tried to give me close to 2K less than what the car was worth according to my company.

OH MAN THAT BITES!

Sorry to hear.......

Make sure you stay on top of it......and stay completely involved...it sucks because things like this take a lot out of your day, but dont expect your insurance company to look out for your best interest.......i have learned to find out that they dont like to do any extra work, they are quick to accept what the bmw drivers insurance company sends over just so they can get the issue done and out of their hair.....

I found that you have to do all the calling, all the back and fourth that your insurance claims agent should be doing for you......

suc ks big time.......

For the record, nationwide is not on your side.

I was in a motorcycle accident in Aug. and I am still fighting over what is owed to me.

^^ see that...thats what im talking about!

believe it or not, its those super slow responses by insurance companies that drag out situations and or try to ignore them that make it difficult......

my wife and I had to hire a lawyer at one time and believe me! lawyers work more toward your best interest than your insurance claims agent will..........

talk about quick responses after a lawyer gets involved!

we got more money and in quicker time getting a lawyer involved than the insurnace comapny would have just handled it with us right from the first place..........and we would have been happy.......

i guess it sucks to say we had to get a lawyer, but believe me..........they were trying to screw us big time.....

ya, you might..........you dont have to pay for the lawyer out of pocket.....these sharks work on their dime and take more than half whats coming to you, but you would have never even seen any bit part of those higher amounts of money with out his powers...........

sad but true...but the small portion you do end up with will be way higher than if you never got a lawyer involved in the first place..

The only thing that sucks - so far...
The person who hit me has the same insurance company as I. My brother in-law is a lawyer but his firm will not allow him to represent me so I am using his knowledge to help me fight all of this. But I know it will be a long time before it is completed... I need to get a rental bc I am not driving my car until it is completely fixed

Be happy to know that Geico is actually decent.
I just had my Nismo bumper replaced at the shop
of my choice, and provivded a rental until the car was done.
I was hit from behind at a red light by a guy in a Pontiac G6 not
paying attention. Damage to my bumper was minimal, but I still
was able to get a replacement. I took the car to a shop where a
Geico adjuster was located. He looked at it, and took some pictures,
and asked me if I wanted to get the car worked on at his shop.
I responded NO. I took my car to Northside Infiniti, and had them do
all the work...I am very happy with the results.
