Hey guys,
I'm thinking of going on a little trip for 1 or 2 days with the girlfriend. We haven't decided where nor when, but it should be within the next 2 weeks or so. Do you guys know of a place where we can go that's within 5 hours driving distance?
Chris

Gambling in Shreveport.
Camping around lake Texoma (cabin style).
San Antonio is more than 5 hours but the riverwalk is a nice place to hang for a couple of days.
Or you could just post up in a nice hotel downtown Dallas and party for a night or two.
Depends on what you're looking to do.

Yeah, I want to do something different.
We don't gamble, rarely drink, I go to school by Texoma so hell no on that..
I've thought about Austin, though. Any other ideas, please?

Maybe find a last minute cheap flight to Vegas for the New years.
Vegas is the best for a New Years fireworks over the strip.
Vegas is a great place to visit. You don't have to gamble to have fun there. Lots to see & do. You don't even need a car rental.....take a shuttle from the airport to the strip and walk it or taxi cab it to different casino's. There are awesome shows and good food there. Its not too expensive either. I think if you found a good package deal for a flight & hotel, then the rest is cake.

She's one of them "good girls" and I stopped drinking a few years ago (I don't drink with her anyway).
Chris, I might actually look into that. Thanks.

Man I would love to hit up Vegas agian - we went last summer and didnt gamble too much nor drank
There are nice shows and tons of things to see on the strip and if you stay on the strip you dont even need a car to go anywhere it is all with in walking distances (its actually a long walk from one end of the strip to the other but so much to look at you will forget how far you have actually walked)
Edit: When walking the strip actually go in to the casinos they usally have unusal and interesting things to see

try a bed and breakfast in the hill country (near austin) somewhere. try to find one near some walking/hiking trails or something. getting away from civilization every now and then is a good thing...

She was getting loud so I had to check her. That showed her who the man of power was.
