Default REMINDER for track event at Hallett, OK

This Sunday, September 7th is ZCOT's day at Hallett Raceway in Hallett, OK. It is about a 4 hours drive north of DFW, and about an hour halfway between Tulsa and OK City. There promises to be a ton of track time. We usually get at least 4, sometimes 5 sessions thruought the day, each averaging at least 20 minutes. You will be exhausted when you are done. If you are new to it, you will get an instructor to guide you through the learning curve. It is non-competitive, and everyone respects each other out there. The chances of hurting you or your car are slim to none, and again, you get to really see what the car is meant to do. Cost on this event is only $130 for a chance to REALLY drive your car.

I know we have a few people even coming up from Houston and Austin. It will be a great time. If you are interested, please go to www.zcluboftexas.org for information.

This is Hallett Motor Racing Circuit:

The aerial shots do not do the track justice as there are hills and on/off camber turns.

Also, there will be a caravan from Dallas on Saturday. We will meet at Two Rows off of US 75 just north of Bethany Rd in Allen. As it stands, we will leave at 2pm. If there are any changes, I will try to post here. PM me for my mobile phone for up to date last minute changes.

A whole lot of us will be staying at the Best Western in Sand Springs, OK -- around 15 minutes west of Tulsa.

See you guys there!

Michael.

Michael--I'll be at the Best Western as well. I'd love to meet up for the caravan, since I've never been up there before.

You've been PMed.

No the Nismo's stay in the box until Monday.
The way I drive I don't want to scratch them up the first weekend I have them.

I have an appointment to get my the wheels and my Nismo Exhaust installed on Monday.

you going to Hallett also?

As club president, I am bound by duty to the sponsoring club to support this event!
My Nismo wheels won't arrive until next Monday!
What brand tires are you planning on going with?

Yeah - the BW Sand Springs. We probably will do dinner at Rib Crib (between BW & I64) around 6:30-7 p.m.

Interesting choice of rubber. lets talk in OK some! Look forward to it.

is this an event to come and watch or will it be boring if you are not racing? I live in Oklahoma City and might come and watch for a while.

Ousig, this event is rather unique. Indeed you are welcome to come out and spectate, but there is also allowance for riders at this event. That is, unless a driver is accompanied by an instructor, then a passenger is allowed to ride along - subject to the driver's whim of course - provided the pasenger meet the restrictions on safety that the drivers follow, such as long sleeved shirt and pants (no cut offs, shorts or tank tops or short sleeve tops), lace up shoes such as tennis shoes (no open toed shoes or sandals), and an approved helmet.

This is going to be so much fun. I'll see the 75 group tomorrow no later than 2.

Nobody forget their helmet--but I am gonna try to grab an extra, just in case.

I will be renting a helmet, as that is a final step in not actually "committing" to taking the car to the track that often. Once I buy the helmet...well you know I will have to at least get my moneys worth out of it!

See you at 2!

I'd go so far as to say that passenger rides are only allowed in the instructor and advanced run groups. I'd consider it a no-no in intermediate, novice, and beginner groups; reason being some people have giant egos and tend to want to show-off to their passenger.

One rule I would break, however, is the long-sleeve rule, especially during the summertime. I'm going to bring along both a long-sleeve and short-sleeve, but if it's hot, then you darn tootin' that I'm wearing the short-sleeve.

Zee you guys tomorrow. Not that my opinion matters or if anybody cares... I'm ecstatic that so many 350 owners will be at this DE. I'll be at MSR later this month for Maverick region PCA's last DE of the year and I'll say that out of 90 cars, only around 10 are non-Porsches (I'm the only 350, let alone Nissan attending!).

Michael.

I don't know our route for sure, but we are staying at the Best Western in Sand Springs, OK (around 15 minutes west of Tulsa) so I'm sure we will be heading there first this evening.
