Default Key fob comited suicide

Well I droped my keys yesterday and now my fob doesn't work. I have one from my old 05 spec-v, and I can't seem to get it to program to my car. Do I need a Z specific fob or does any nissan fob work. I guess I need a new one, but I don't want to pay Dealer money, and I am kind of unsure about ebay jobs. Suggestions would be great. using the key sucks.

Ya, I tried that with no luck. I may try putting a new battery in it, and try it again. If not I guess I am going to have to buy a new one.

I bought an extra one on ebay for like 10 bucks and programmed it easily. theirs no need to go to a dealership and get charged a ridiculous amount.

f all of this crap. I sat out in the car for like 45 minutes and couldnt get the stupid fob procedure to work. I guess I am going to have to put stupid money and have the dealer do it. This just makes me irate right now.

I would try one of travis's, he has some and Im sure he would let you test before he sold it to you... perhaps the one you have now is toast or needs a new battery or something.. its ok to use the key for a day or 2 til you figure it out..

if you do go to the dealership - bend over and take it...bet its over a bill... EASY..

BTW - sorry the DIY did nothing for ya..

I took my two remotes to Bankston, and they said my one is definatly DOE, and the other will not work with the Z. They looked for an extra but couldnt find any, they werent gonna make me pay $110 for a new one.

I am gonna take Travis up on his offer. I will survive for a few days i suppose
