My friend just had his turbonetics kit installed by Jotech and let me tell you how I feel about them. They are all a bunch of nice guys and did a great job with the install you can tell its a quality job but they don't meet their dates.

Friend takes car in last Monday, they tell him it will be done by Wednesday.

Wednesday comes around: "Hi Blake, your car won't be ready until tomorrow, we got the exhaust and clutch and flywheel on and mounted the intercooler but haven't gotten to the turbo install.." Both of us are dying from anticipation it was killing us.

Thursday comes around: "Hi Blake, your car won't be ready until tomorrow, we had the turbo almost completely installed and noticed you had long tube headers... we need the stock headers..." Blake wasn't even aware he had long tube headers and neither did I, proves that man headers=waste of money. There excuse was they were painted black and looked like the oem headers. This is where I'm pissed. Here you are a professional shop installing all the FI mods and whatnot and your telling me you couldn't spot out aftermarket headers.. give me a break! But he ensured it would be ready Friday.

Friday comes around: Hi Blake, I'm sorry but your cars not gonna be ready until Saturday. This is when I just laughing at how ridiculous this is, its almost comical. He said the stock headers they used had to be sprayed with some **** that took all Friday to dry. He said the car will for sure be ready Saturday evening.

Saturday evening: Blake finally gets the call that his car is all done and is be test driven by Kenny right now. So he finally gets to see the finished results and the dyno numbers came out great, they expected him to make 340 to to 360 at the wheels and he actually ended up making 387.5 hp at the wheels, so we were all very excited about that but then he says well man the AC line screwed up in the process so your gonna either gonna have to suck up no AC or keep it here for the weekend... Of course he was like no give me the damn car I'll bring it back Monday.

So Saturday night is finally here and I finally get to ride in his car we go out driving it, being pretty easy on it, of course opeing it up some but nothing extreme, He is driving and his damn clutch gets stuck!! WTF 6 days in the shop and the clutch line seems to be done. At this pt were both like man you gotta be sh!ting me.. No working AC and a faulty JWT heavy clutch.

This Monday he takes it in and ends up spending 6 hrs there while they finally do there job completely right. They didn't replace his stock clutch line and it had cracked... wouldn't you expect them to replace the clutch line or at least the old fluid in there?!? Well they did finally install everything correctly and now the car is working great! I haven't gotten to drive it with the clutch working properly but will be today.

Basically JoTech have nice guys and have Kenny Tran, racing man and for the most part know what they are doing, and did a great job with the turbo install, but they lacked in the smaller things which doesn't fly. If your throwing down 13k I would expect my clutch line to be replaced and ac working when i get the car!

Good luck with your search.. hope this helps

+1 on Mr Tran. Plus he'll take you out to this good Mexican restaurant in Houston where they serve a huge burrito that he had never seen anyone finish until he met me, lol

Is this Kenny's bro or something... I'm telling positive and negative about them. They definitely know what there doing.. Its just the little things they forgot and the amount of time they pushed that bothered me.. but problems are expected.

DO expect a quality build from Jotech though! I was just spitting out the situation that went down with my friend. But nonetheless his car turned out great! And ended up with a lot more power to the wheels than expected!

$13K for 380 HP? If he was putting down 260 stock, thats $108 per single HP.

That's rediculous! I bet you could send a decent sized package for more. My exhaust is costing around $100, but it's coming from Boston.

no i am not his brother or related to him in anyway. the last name tran is equivalent to the last name smith. you get what im saying? sucks that they forgot a few things here and there, shouldnt be any excuses for it. attention to detail and being super **** about things is what everyone in this business should be

Jotech is great......for Hondas...thats the ONLY thing Ive heard them do good with.

im going to see if I can find the thread, cause I know I will get some flame action.. but I dont care...I wouldnt take my sh*t to jotech if it was FREE..

***EDIT** Joey had his car built in 06 and had it for less than a yr. Car started acting up...got it fixed and sold it ASAP..built a C6 from there and sold that... guess dude just gets new stuff after he rags the crap out of the car.. may just be owner issue here...
Alright, let's get this straight.

Joey's car ran fine. He sold it to some kid and he blew up one of the turbo. We recommended him to purchase a new one and he opted to have it rebuilt. We did the installs and sure enough a few weeks later the same turbo smoke again.

Again, only I hope that if anyone is serious about modding their cars to please check your sources and do a little more research before you make your decision.

It's kinda funny that we're a "Honda" shop and we have all these accoplishments:
Quickest & Fastest Hot Rod Scion (7.94 @ 184mph / 2 Championships)
Fastest 2009 Nissan GTR R35 (10.3 @ 134pmh)
15+ 600+HP Nissan 350Z Turbos
1000HP Toyota Supras
Tuner Car Of The Year - Nissan 350Z TT (Modified Magazine)
Oh Yeah - Quickest & Fastest Honda in the Midwest (8.16 @ 184mph)

What have you done lately!

Sorry guys for rambling and bringing up the past. it just upsets me to do hard work and have some kid try to discredit you because he knows how to type. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SOURCES...

Just want to reply we original quoted Blake 1 week for the complete install of the turbo kit, guages, boost controller, fuel system, exhaust, etc... and Blake decided to add quite a bit more parts to this work order. For example: clutch, brakes, intake plenum, polishing and all fluids flush. Also, he had offbrand headers which was hitting turbo piping. These are only a details that had to be addressed and obviously added more time to the install so it took a little longer. We did not even have time to recharge the A/C and explained to Blake that if he absolutely have to get the car for the weekend and bring it back on Monday so we could finish up. Keep in mind that we did all these installs, dyno and detail the car 6 business days.

At the end, we rather take more time with the installs but deliver you a reliable car versus something that is rush and won't last. I hope you would understand where we stand.

Hope Blake give you a ride in his car, it is very nice!

Hello all! This is Mike from Jotech. Blake's salesperson. Normally I just sit around and lurk but,..... this is about the last straw. Let me be very clear about something. It will not be tolerated for anyone to badger or bash Jotech, Kenny, Tony, myself or any other Jotech Motorsports employee. I've worked for Kenny for almost 11yrs and the thing he cares about most, as do the rest of us, is customer satisfaction.
First of all we got what is pretty much the last in the box Turbonetics turbo kit in the country. Secondly we agreed to come down to internet pricing to match a price for a kit I knew no one else in the country had. Next I was clear and concise that we would do the best we could to get the car done as reasonably quickly as a quality installation would allow.
Not only did we not know the car had headers when it was dropped off but, Blake did not know the car had headers on it. We knew the car had headers the minute all the exhaust came off though. I told Turbonetics that when I spoke to them regarding the flash. They were not long tubes either, they were cheap Taiwanese pieces that know one had ever seen before. We know good headers when we see them. These probably came from ebay. I told Blake that once we found out about the clearance issues. Since we never installed the kit with these cheap-o headers how were we supposed to know the pipe wouldn't fit? So, we also had to put the stock manifolds back on to the car after the kit was basically done. At that point I charged him less than half of what we normally charge to swap them out.
Also, NO shop typically just replaces the clutch line. Unless its bad and that was not evident. It held fine during tuning.
The AC..... It was not possible to have the AC recharged on Saturday evening and we offered to keep the car until we felt it was 100% or to let him enjoy driving it for the weekend and to bring it back. He chose the latter.
So from now on you need to get the story straight and display all the facts before you go talking s&!t about delivery times, high prices, or any else you think you know all about.

Not only this, but so everyone knows, this was not just a turbo install. It was ....
Turbonetics complete turbo kit( in which we had to re-install factory headers)
All four brake rotors( which had to come off and be resurfaced)
All new Brake Pads
Front and Rear Brake lines
Complete brake system flush with ATe Super Blue
Complete ACT Clutch install(in which we found a broken pivot ball we replaced and fixed for FREE)
Custom gauge Bezel which had to be built from scratch
AEM Uego wideband and AEM elect. boost gauges which had to be wired and the downpipe welded for the additional o2.
Intake manifold and throttle body polishing
So NO! It was not "just a turbo install"
And it was not 380 for 13k....
He got brakes, clutch, lines, factory manifolds/ installed, a/f gauge and boost gauge w/ custom install for 13K.

Here are some pics of the build.

And we did all of this in a week with great fit and finish.
Not only that but I told Blake as we do every customer, do not hesitate to call or email us anytime. ANY problems are always taken care of as soon as possible with urgency. You're paying for service excellence. You don't rush this type of project. We are build and putting things together that peoples lives depend on. You don't rush this. Every bolt should be double checked and you can't do that if you're rushed unreasonable. I think delivery of this type of project in 5-6 days is more than reasonable considering the manifold hiccup. Every customer that spends money with us is treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve. Even customers and shops who don't spend money are always welcome for the grand tour and just to hang out and say hi every once and a while. But I do not stand for misinformation to this extent about my me, my co workers, or my employer!

Blake is a great guy who deseves a great car and by no means will our customer service or quality be sacrificed in regards to safety or realiability. I hope Blake enjoys his car and I'm currently working on an all inclusive motor estimate for him.
Oh yeah and everyone should always ask about the Z-club discounts. For most they do exist!

Lol! Scared? You shouldn't be.
There is a difference between telling the whole truth and part of it.
I have no problem with the whole truth if you are going to complain.
Everyone has shops the prefer. Nothing wrong with that. There are tons of shops providing tons of service. Tons of customers. As longs as everybody leaves there chosen establishments with a smile on their face...... That's what should matter.

Give us a call and come by, I promise, you'll think differently.
Ask any of our customers. We always try our best to make sure the customer is satisfied.
