FI installer in the DFW area....
i was there when blo-tech was tuning a rx-7 they built on the dyno and blew the motor...ive had them install springs on a previous car without seating the springs correctly or torquing down the bolts correctly...like i said i wouldn't trust them to touch my honda lawnmower let alone a car again
And for the icing on the cake.. this isn't the first time I have seen problems with Jotech. My friends dad had an s2000 and bought gears and had them installed by Jotech. Not long after having them were driving the s2k and the gears were destroyed. Not even opening the car up when it happened. Cruising off after a stop light and they were destroyed. His dad took the s2k to a honda tech and the guy said "these gears look like they were installed by a bunch of amatures, did you and your dad install these." So even if they claim to be honda specialist they didn't even install something as simple as gears. And Mike I'm not talking $h!t I'm stating the facts...
I'm not sure man. I do know he was only running at 8 psi though

stew, it happens man. my daily mr2 died at a stop light idling. drove 12 highway miles from my house to my restaurant no problems. as soon as i get to a red light and idle for a minute the engine starts to rumble and smoke. doesnt matter what gear, speed, rpm, if an engine wants to go it will go. your reasoning is faulty. **** happens especially when you boost a stock motor. only way to tell if its possibly the shops fault is if you see a trend of cars blowing up. i dont know jotech's blown motor rate so i cant even begin to speculate.

Stew .. we're not here to debate with you because you're speaking out of reference. We need actual facts, names, data, both sides of the story to draw any conclusion.
We've spoken with Blake, he will have the car here today for us to diagnose. Just like everything we do here, it will be resolve one way or the other.
He was running 6-7 psi.

Take your car to Bailey's Hyperformance
Blue Mound Rd., in Fort Worth.
That's where my turbo was installed. Guages, complete kit, etc. They did good job for good price. A coolant line busted a few months after, but it's a used kit, rebuild with a waterline. All is good now, and I just got bigger injectors for an install.
He does all car work, turbos, supercharger, a few Z's, He turbos bikes. Crazy fast ****.
Then, take your car to Chris Macarello for tunning.

How can the springs not seat correctly? It's self explanatory how springs go on.
Torquing which bolts?
I'm sorry you had this experience. I'm sure Kenny would have resolved any issues you had, if he knew. How long ago was this?

Like we said, there are many shops that can help you with your service and performance needs. Unfortunately we could not tune this car although it was highly suggested to install a V-Pro System, as we do every turbo Z customer. We had to rely on the sources at turbonetics. Compression was good at time of install. We are not sure of how hard a life the motor had up to the turbo kit either. As previously stated, these things just sometimes happen. At any rate the car is being put back together and the customers needs being taken care of, as usual. Enjoy your Z's Thanks!
