Default FI installer in the DFW area....

I've been out of the loop a bit recently, but I'm curious who is going where for FI installs?

The only cars I've been in were Michael Stewart's custom one off twin turbo that JoTech did back in the day and Tim's Greddy TT also done by Jotech...

I'm looking at doing the Powerlab GT35R kit and I'm not convinced you get what you pay for out of Jotech, sure the results are there, but the value leaves something to be desired.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm open to shipping the car off to Forged or one of the reputible tuners, but will go other routes if the confidence is there.

Having my TT built at Jotech currently. Having shopped around extensively in Texas and elsewhere, their prices are very comparable or better than other quotes I received. With their background, experience with turbo systems and mostly their service: I highly recommend them.

I went for a tuner that was "more affordable" and it cost a new engine. I even had a honda guy over here in DFW mention them when I was getting my POS civic serviced. His words " the best it comes with Nissans and turbos". Maybe it comes across as nuthugging. So be it then, because the experience working with Tony and Kenny is just as you would want when you go this route.

Best of luck in your search,

G

Last Jotech 350z I remember was built for some dude named Joey on Dallas imports...needless to say Joey doesnt have the Z and has a Vette now...The Z is no more and is a smog machine...PURE white smoke..I think it last all but 6 mos and Joey sold it as soon as he could ..

Jotech is great......for Hondas...thats the ONLY thing Ive heard them do good with.

im going to see if I can find the thread, cause I know I will get some flame action.. but I dont care...I wouldnt take my sh*t to jotech if it was FREE..

***EDIT** Joey had his car built in 06 and had it for less than a yr. Car started acting up...got it fixed and sold it ASAP..built a C6 from there and sold that... guess dude just gets new stuff after he rags the crap out of the car.. may just be owner issue here...

Default options

Jotech built mine andtuned it with a conservative setup. Its been good for some time. Their service afterwords has been very helpful.
I am in Killeen now and there is a shop that I have become very impressed with called Deep Stage. Owner is named Drew and is easy to deal with. He has done some RB conversions as well as some JZ conversions. Might not hurt to give him a call.

ColecatZ - Tim's car has been to various shops though, hasn't it? I know for sure it went to SGP at least once or twice. He's dropped a lot of money in that car and later traded it for a Porsche. I heard he regretted the trade, though.

+1 Go with the more well-known and better/more-experienced shops like Forged, GTM, Injected, Intense, Sound Performance, etc. Do it right the first time and get it done by the shops who will stand by their work no matter what.

Why even bring it up if you're not going to just say it? I've heard stories about them, Scarab, Alamo, GS Motorsports, etc and have experience with a few shops myself. It doesn't mean they're all bad nor does it mean they'll do a crapjob on your particular car.

I remember that guy. The older members have met him a few times.... and he was cocky as hell about his Z. He apparently had 450whp at 8.5 psi back in the day.
