Just thought I'd see if there are a lot of peeps out there that would like to vent about their Mgr. or Boss.
So this thread is dedicated to all you Stupid Lame A$$ bosses that think your great management skills are awesome.
_______
Let me start by stating that I work in Photography & produce commercial & retail images for clients on a daily basis. I am a Supervisor of my crew & there are 3 shooters on staff & a full time photo stylist, and even a set-up / set builder on staff. So in reality, I am almost even with his title. The Studio is approximately 20,000 to 24,000 sq. ft.
Generally through the calendar year we stay fairly busy, and actually work our Butts off with several hours of OT per week or even monthly. This time of year our clients generally are finished with their projects & campaigns, and the Advertising budgets have been depleted.
So between now & Jan. 1st. we stay relatively slow....or even nothing to do at all. We all pitch in and reorganize the studio & clean up things. We are professional and can take of ourselves.
This where my Manager has to come up to me and tell me that I need to do some training or clean up the studio....And I'm like WTF ???
So I said to him:
"Why do you insist that you have to walk around here and find something for me to do ?.....Why can't we just hang low and enjoy the slow time in the studio ? "
So I just keep surfing and acted like I didn't hear him.
I mean really, do they have nothing better to do than just walk around and see who isn't working ?

Power Trip FTMFL. I did not know Manager and Supervisor is on the same level. Not at my work place. Did you really tell him that? lol. Gangsta!
Mines don't appreciate our work. Always have meetings and always negatives, talk to us like we are not adults. I just let it go through one ear out the other.

Dang...Im glad I have the boss I have. I get left alone and get escalations when no one else can fix sh*t. I do my job well so he leaves me the f*k alone. Also Im IT so getting "caught" surfing is nothing.. ONLY problem I do have is he NEVER knows how to answer my question if I have a "real" problem...
Trending Topics
Compared to my old job I love this one....
I work under a head engineer as an Aerospace Engineer fixing planes......
We are considered stand alone engineers and maintain our workload, answer incoming request and walk around the site doing our jobs with no one to answer to what so ever..
about the only boss interaction we have is meetings to discuss how the shop floor managers screw this up or screw that up..........
managers on the floor make room and are very accommodating because they "need" us to help them fix their mistakes...
about the only issues i have is one manager dude with no engineering experience whatsoever who thinks its his right to question me on my designs/repairs...he is apart of the quality department and if at all should be verifying what I say gets done, not question what i do!
I have to set him straight every so often...
My last job was identical yet everyone had a chip on their shoulder.........dog eat dog world, CYA and everyone trying to pull the rug out from under you.....it was rediculous!!! I was personally responsible for doing the "right thing" on multiple occasions and have had 2-5 people fired or demoted due to their actions.....
Airplane safety is no joke - those fools were straight up life threatening...
