Default Does this sound legit?

So I'm in process of selling my fiance's Miata. This guy contacted me about 4 weeks ago, but never had a chance to come check out the car, as he lives south of Waco. He calls me today and asked if I still had the car for sale. He's interested in checking it out this weekend.

I tell him I want cash, he makes a few calls and said his bank will issue a cashiers check. He gives me the # to his bank, Mills County State Bank, and says his banker needs the VIN# and my info on who to make the cashiers check out to. He gave me the guys #, which is the main bank # and name. The name appears to be the president of the Hamilton Banking center, Donald P. Gromatzky.

Think this sounds legit?

My understanding is that a Cashiers check does not equal cash. BEWARE

Agree here.

His *** doesnt touch the seat until processing is over and that green shows as a deposit.

Im sure nothing is fishy, he is prob just getting a loan through that bank for the amount, and that bank will issue you a check.

I sold my Miata last summer to a guy from Little Rock, AR. I was a bit skeptical at first, but he showed up as promised and he had a cashier's check with him. I called the issuing bank to confirm they had written the check. The confirmed everything and he drove away with the car. I never had a problem. The check cleared just like the bank said. Things should be checked out, but cashier's checks can work and work very well.

I doubt its a cashier's check he might be trying to finance the used car through the bank but it sounds pretty shaddy. I would look up that bank on my own and make sure its legit... don't call the number he gave you

The # he gave me google's directly to the bank's phone number.

The name he gave me of his banker, google's to be the president of the bank.

If he is getting a loan, none of bank will gives out any money without they gets the title first. I'm sure bank asking you a VIN# because for vehicle history check if car is clean title and vehicle value etc etc.
But again, someone have to handle title to bank before gets the money if it is loan.

It sounds legit bro

Maybe roll with the guy to his bank and watch them cut you the check if you can? If not call the bank have them verify the check is authentic, take that puppy and cash it!! Make sure you check the date of the check too and if its not older than 60 days I'd take it

But do be cautious tho!!!

Welp, the guy lives about 3 hour aways, so going to his local bank won't be an option.

BUT!!! Had a lady in Rockwall just come by to look at the car and will decide by tonight and bring cash money.
