FairladyZ03 is correct. If you REALLY want to go to Galveston,
the parking lot adjacent to I-45 South is perfect !
Hooter's, Luther's Bar-B-Que, Mongolian Stir-Fry, etc... are all in this parking lot (which is HUGE).

But...
there's not much else to do in the immediate area,
UNLESS.... you want to go to Space Center (Houston's #1 attraction) which is further East on Nasa Rd. 1.

We could meet in the aformentioned parking lot...eat...then caravan over to Space Center. It's a straight shot with a few traffic lights along the way, so even if we got split up, it would be hard to get lost.

They have security parking, and a tour of the facility takes between 4-5hrs. but it ain't cheap. Tickets are like $18 !...but it's waaay cool !
I've got connections there, if y'all are interested...I could probably get us in for a few bucks cheaper....and PROBABLY free parking too. We can park there, kick tires out in the parking lot, to our little hearts content, then go in and see the exhibit, come back out and kick some more tires (they close at 7:00pm).
Space Center and the Z Club of Houston are GREAT friends (we've had a couple of events there), and they treat us like family ! Go to their website @: www.spacecenter.org
Don't know if y'all want to do anything this organized...
just an offer.

Wherever we meet, unless we have prior approval, we should have an alternate place to go to, in case we're given the boot.

how about a place that isn't on the complete other side of houston, and pick a central location. especially for the people coming from dallas and austin.

The marqee center is/was perfect, no idea why it was changed from there. We've held several car meets there without incident. HUGE parking lot, lots of different restaurants around there, games, etc. It's right off of 610/I10 ... it's easy to find for those people coming out of town and it's pretty centralized for everybody living in Houston.

Dave,
sorry for adding to the confusion. I know what you're going through...really, I do...too many opinions.

Yes you are now located centrally.
The key word is "central", meaning you are right smack dab in the middle of the busiest part of Houston.
I was trying to get you "out of the city", so that moving that many cars, en mass, would be more do-able...you would have an actual game plan....plus,
thought the Space Center thing would be fun.

Obviously, this is in Moraccan's back yard, and he knows something that we don't. Mine was just a suggestion.
I will now officially "bow-out" (no hard feelings).
