While we were standing around awaiting the arrival of the new Nismo Kit Redline (which was quite nice) we started discussing that we need a new 350Z DFW group. Maybe do a few rides or just gather for dinner 1 night a month.

But the thread doesn't seem to be too active, I posted in it a few weeks ago, but nobody really responded, but I think with the crew we have here in the area we could really take up a parking lot with some nice Z's.

The guys over at ********** tried too and we got a small one (me, toykilla, and **********) at one, but once again it kinda fizzled.

We got Dr. Z to show up, but we are still lacking.

So we do seem to have quite a few people that want to meet for Z junk and talk but so far as I know there haven't been any big meetings yet. I for one would be up.

I think it would be a good chance to see new mods and discuss stuff (I learned a few things at the hooters show, thanks Randall).

I am going to post this at the other 2 sites and hopefully we can get something started.

The e-mail list is a pretty good idea. What I had intended to do was once I get a decent list I was going to PM everyone from the 3 sites this is posted and try to organize something. What I will also do is every e-mail that I get I will send out a message that way as well.

So far it looks like we got about 12 Zs that are interested. So if this keeps up for another day or 2 then we might have a decent turnout. I had intended to send out a message before the end of this week.

One things you should consider is centralized location. I mean, I am from South Fort Worth, and I know a few other guys are, but i know you, Jaysen and several others are closer to north Dallas. TXSTYLE likes to put on meets almost every month or so, but he likes to pick north Dallas which puts me in the position of driving over an hour and a half some times just to get there. (so i stopped going)..

Places along 360 are the best bet. anywhere from Arlington, to Grapevine.

So far I was thinking about the On The Border in Arlington. It's off I-30 right there at ranger stadium.

It's pretty central to everywhere, it has a huge parking lot, and it has a screened in patio (since the evenings are getting nice here now).

Ok, this is the actual invite.

Since we are pretty scattered throughout the metroplex I thought that a central location would be best.

In North Arlington off of I-30 and about 1 mile west of 360 is an On The Border (if you've never been there it is Tex-Mex). It's a pretty good place because it has a huge parking lot behind it so no matter what we should be able to get a ton of Z's all in a row. It also has an open patio which should be pretty nice in the evenings now.

As far as when do we want to do this. What it sounds like is the weekend is best for everyone and I was thinking that Sunday would be the best night so we don't have to break the weekend in half if it was on Saturday.

I was thinking that next sunday (the 26th) would be best because it gives everyone time to set up plans a little in advance. I am going to ask everyone to reply to confirm this is good, we will have time to tweak the schedule if need be.

As far as time, lets make it around 6PM. I'll be there right at or a little before 6, so when you see the DB Z you know you in the right place.

Lets here what you think about the time to do it and lets get this going. I think we can make a good group here. And if you know others that might want to show by all means invite them.

There are 2 existing Zclubs in the Area. Z Club of Texas meets tonight, 9/16/04 at 7:30-go to their website for directions.
The other is Cowtown Z Club which meets the second thursday of the month, at 7:30, mercardo juarez, at I20 & Matlock.
We have all Z cars in our groups, from the 240 to the 350 track, etc. Events are great, for instance both clubs went to Hallett last Sunday for a day on one of the best driving tracks around.
Both clubs should meet all geographical needs in the metroplex.

I am actually a Z Club of Texas member.

However the problem with both of these clubs is the meeting times. For most of the people that we are trying to set up this fun get together with, weekday meetings are too hard. For me I don't get home till 6 during the week and then to have to drive to Plano would be a tough weeknight drive (and I only live 30 mins from Plano, without traffic of course). I would be a much more active member if the times were more flexible to my schedule.

That is the main reason that we are trying to do it on Sun. We welcome any group or person that wants to come out and join us. We are just going to be talking cars and other junk. Then some if not all are going to enjoy a margarita on the patio.

My car will be going into the shop soon for some work, but if it is not in on the 26th I will drive ALL the way out to Arlington.

A suggestion for a future meet... Grapevine Mills mall, near the restaurants. Plenty of parking to put the Z's together. Just a thought.
