It looks like the Cipher will not raise the idle speed on the 2004.5 G35. We are posting a new application guide on the website here (will be updated this afternoon): http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5...y_Code=350Z_EM

UPDATE!

The Cipher Diagnostics & Data System now supports 5 additional Nissan/Infiniti models. These models include the 02 Maxima SE, 06 Maxima SE, 06 Sentra S, 06 Armada, and 06 Murano SL. These new models have been fully tested and found to be compatible with the system.

We've also plugged into a 03 Sentra SER Spec-V and 03 FX35 without a hitch - full tests will be done on these models soon.

Refer to the Cipher Functionality Matrix here
for a complete list of supported vehicles and functions. Check back often for other new updates!

So which one is better, this or the Utec Tuner WB for use when tuning the UTEC if you could only have one or the other? Whats the difference between the two?

The TunerREG is a widebank 02 controller similar to one found on the dyno. With the UTEC, the TunerREG is used to read and record the air-fuel value. Because the TunerREG plugs directly into the UTEC it makes tuning very straightforward and easier.

The Cipher tool is very similar to the Nissan scan tool and is great for diagnosing vehicle running problems, monitioring all of the ECU parameters, and reseting vehicle check engine codes. Cipher can also read the factory wideband 02 sensors on 04.5 and newer Z's. You can also log and view the factory 02 sensor feedback values which is important while tuning.

They are both great tools to have. If simply tuning the UTEC the TunerREG, because it integrates with the UTEC & displays values on the UTEC dashboard, will help out alot.

Hope this helps,

New features are in the works... however, raising the rev limit will require a reflash and will likely be part of a different system :wink::wink:.

It would be nice if an update was released allowing the cypher to read true AFR instead of just the voltage from the stock wideband O2 sensors. That the only thing thats missing IMHO.

It does do the conversion, you just have to link the look up table to your ECU part number. The LUT was pulled right from the servis manual, but I'm currently working on a set of conversions taken from a wide band in the real world. I'll post the data next week.

This is listed in the service manual? I have the service manual for an 03, so it doesn't talk about widebands.

Yeah, there's a V vs AFR graph for the sensor in there.

Any possibility of someone getting a screen shot of the lookup table ?

I wish I could find a copy of a 2004.5 service manual, no luck so far...

Wired 24/7, I hope this post will not get me into trouble with UpRev.

For table from service manual see this thread on g35driver, and for new dyno sniffer vs Cypher see this thread on g35driver

Sorry about the slow responce... I've been on vacation all weekend.
The table in the 2004 manual is on Pg. EC-463
The calibrated valuse are as follows:

V______New__Default
0.0V = 10.95 10.94
0.3V = 11.65 11.62
0.7V = 12.51 12.46
1.0V = 13.23 13.10
1.3V = 14.01 14.01

Everything above 1.3 can stay at the default values.

PunKidd, thanks for posting calibrated A/F LUT.

I have few questions about calibration:
On what type of car was calibration done?
Which wideband was used for calibration, or perhaps tail pipe sniffer?
On Bank1 or on Bank2?

Thanks
