The Utec itself is plug and play. If you are tuning on a dyno, nothing else is really needed, as long as the dyno has a wideband o2 reading and laptop with the necessary software. Although I would recommend the map switch which allows you to switch between different saved maps on the Utec.

I'd also recommend the TunerREG. It is a wideband 02 that integrates with the UTEC and allows you to datalog the air-fuel ratio. This greatly aids tuning, and is mandatory in forced induction applications IMO.

Here is a link with picture: http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5...y_Code=350Z_EM

Hope this helsp,

If you have a naturally aspirated car & UTEC, you can always switch to setting "0" for a baseline!

Setting "0" bypasses the UTEC and runs the car stock.

Hope this helps,

Anybody in MD, VA, DE need any UTEC tuning I suggest you go see Mike @ AAM-he tunes everything, and tunes well. Had my car tuned there,on the base TN flash my car wouldnt even get to redline without detonating, after he tuned, my 2nd pass down the track I had an 11 sec slip in my hand

They are great for the 350Z. Let me know if you need one, we have several instock! We offer free tech. support to our customers and I take a few minutes with each customer to go over the setup - really helps out the tuning process!

I'm in the same boat as Ruff (cats+NISMO), so that means I would have 4 maps to switch between...but why would I need to do that anyway? Different petrol octane? Outside temp conditions? Please explain...thanks

Different maps for different things. The utec actually has a temp based tuning area (I didn't tune my Utec, it is something along the lines of the Utec changing based on temp). But you could have maps for lower octane "petrol" or perhaps a tune for race "petrol". You could have a more conserative map which has less timing and slightly richer A/F to be on the safer side. Or you could have a really agressive map saved. Lots of options.

Since I don't plan on using the switch much, I put it on the blank to the left of the steering wheel next to my traction control button. I am working 30 hrs a week right now and full time college. I'll get pics of everything end of this week, dyno charts, and potentially a 1/4 mile run saturday night.
