If AEM chose to, they could easily release a PnP EMS. The current crop of standlones on the market, such as the FCON, leave the DBW to the stock ECU. There is no harm or liability in that, and I wish AEM would take the same approach. The only thing that stock ECU controls on the FCON, is the idle throttle position...that's it.

They are selling it for $3000.00 retail. I heard I could get it for around $2600.00. IMO I don't think they've sold that many if the price tag is that high.

I need to give them another call. Thing is I'm out of town and I left their phone # at home.

Anyone got their website?

Hello!

The kit will retail for $2999.00.

The kit will include the following...
AEM EMS ECU (with all internal modifications already made)
AEM Wideband A/F meter
MAP Sensor
Coolant temperature sensor (with extension rail/adapter)
Air Intake Temp Sensor
Plug and Play Harness

For all of that it is actually a pretty good deal, not to mention the ability to calibrate the system. Unlike the HKS Fcon that only a few are allowed to even get the software.

I am looking forward to it myself guys.

I agree Sharif!

The AEM in the above configuration from Sound Performance will not control idle either. I understand AEM's stance but I agree with you. Unfortunately that just leaves some of the high end ECU's on the market to completely control this portion of the mapping such as a MoTec. Again unfortunately due to pricing this cuts off a large portion of the market.

haha..hi Chris...long time no talk.

$2999 is a tremendous value for a PnP AEM system with wideband. I knew it was only a matter of time.

Who is actually the company that will be selling the PnP units? I know GTM is done with theirs as well.

Sharif the name of the company that is producing the kit is Sound Performance.

They have sold a few kits to this date but have just finalized the price as of yesterday.

What can we expect as end users with this EMS? Can we tune it like we can with the UTEC? Change timing etc etc.. Can you give us more details as to what we can actually do with it?

Thanks in advance!

The AEM EMS is a full standalone ECU. It allows you to change A/F and Timing independently. It will give the average user the ability to tune his/her own car (at his/her own risk). The software is free for download. I would recommend that you look at the software your self and draw your own conclusion. It does open a new opportunity for this market.
