The lack of support with these EMS's is the biggest difficulty. I can't even imagine the genius of the first pioneers who hot-rodded the first EFI ECU's way back when.

The reason I had problems with the EU for 5 months (and hence, most of the time it was sitting in my bedroom collecting dust) was because there is nobody to talk to except other people who have installed it. If they didn't have the problems that you have, then they can't help you very easily, simple as that.

Good luck getting the comms working or whatever your problem is...

its been a while but the tuning is going well. i am getting pretty good at changing on the fly now.

anyways, i finally got all my wiring put back in and panels on so its looks nice again.

here is a pic with the tuner pro mounted in.

i can hook up via the serial in front to the laptop when in use, or observing the a/f. i can also disconnect the cables in back when not in use and close the panel.

will be posting final log soon for stock air box 06' w/k&n filter, crawford upper plenum, mrev2 lower plenum, dc sports headers, crawford cats, and fuji y pipe and ti catback.

its not easy....had to tear the console apart and do some precise cutting with a dremel and then i used a box cutter for the inside so i would not cut deep into any wiring or a/c ducts. there is not much room behind the console so with the cabling hooked up you need to cut the back or the tuner will stick out to far.

with some patience and time though you can get a nice fit. since mine is the older style, its much bigger than the newer ones which are about 1/3 the size so those may fit without any modification.

its nice though to be able to see your a/f as your rolling and tuning, and just as easy to hook a cable into the front for logging. i think my next thing to do is get the remote switch and mount it in there with the tuna.

my tune is pretty good right now but i am getting some intermittent surging. its not really hard, just slight at times. but then i do another run and no hesitation at all and a nice steady pull to redline. any ideas?

i noticed i am getting some knock now and thats where it hesitates or surges. i am getting some knocks up to 6 at times. i have my threshold at 3 but maybe my other settings are too sensitive. any suggestions

Any time I make any changes to any of the maps I purposely go in and turn the knock settings up higher and run it a few times to make sure everything is ok. If you can turn the settings up pretty high and get nothing, you know you are safe, which is all I can afford at the moment LOL. I used to have them turned down, but in the winter everything runs smoother and I turned mine back up. I think its 110, 100, 90, 80, 80, 70 for me right now. I set my knock count at 2. If I ever adjust the settings its only by 5 or so at a time.

Great thread.. I just recieves nt UTEC from Forged monday. I have read the manual twice now. Im eager to install it, but still a hesitant. Dont wanna pay to get it tuned as im going FI soon, but i am itching to try to tune N/A myself. While in the 0 (stock) mode, will it log the stock ECU setting? Will it also show the Dashboard?
