Okay, SO, I want to make a base map via some datalogging on my UTEC. I've been advised, however, that if I run on map 0, which is the ecu control, that the car still runs funny. I want to set up a base map and I'm really insure how to go about it. I'll be connecting my innovate wideband and using that other GUI to interface it in with some datalogging.
suggestions?
suggestions?
my car ran fine on the "0" map. don't try it with larger than stock injectors though!!!
I used the "0" map to see what the ECU is doing during certain situations.....to aid in my tuning.

well this is precisely it, I've got the TN reflash tuned for the 380cc injectors that are in the car right now, so those are essentially stock.
I've just heard from other sources that the car runs weird on 0, but I guess I'll just have to throw it in, make sure I can datalog, and keep it on Map 0 and log it, then make a map as adjustment accordingly.
Are you saying "0" acts funny b/c of there being larger injectors or are you saying zero acts like crap period?
I thaught I read alot of the NA guys using zero for some reasons.

I'd just been told that on "0" the utec does funny things to the ecu signal. Maybe I'm mistaken? I haven't personally tried myself, I'm just going by heresay.
I've been running on Map 0 for quite a bit now, with no probs. 100% Nismo R-Tune (incl cams and headers, etc) mods here. It runs 100% stock when on Map 0.
Now I have seen some Map 0 logs that suggest the MAF voltage isn't being translated 1:1 as it "passes through", but the offset introduced is only like 0.05 % or something, so it should be negligible unless you are FI.

I'm FI, hence my worries haha
I mean I'd like to get a nice datalog on map 0 if I know for sure i'm not in danger of blowing something on the motor due to odd fluctuations.

According to the instructions, Map 0 is technically the bypass map. So if you were running your FI setup on the stock ECU then you *should* be able to do the same on Map 0 with no ill effects.
But I find it hard to believe you are running an FI setup on the stock ECU with any success or smooth running. Is that currently the case?
