Hey man you should call up technosquare and all your throttle response problems will be answered. As for the Z its true the plate only opens up to about 80%. What they will do is open it up to a full 100% and torque throuout the power band will be increased. And best of all the rev limeter will be raised, so you can reach 60 in second gear! but a reason for your slow throttle response could be due to you hks exhaust, and the z's ecu not adjusting to its better breathing. If its not tuned to the ecu it may be the cause. Its definetly worth a call I have heard a lot of great things about them.

It is easier to use the factory ecu with a utec, as there are only a few standalones that can control the cams, like hks-fcon ( only hks dealers can tune it) and the magnetti maralli wich is about 5000$

Amuse seems to offer ECU options for the Z33 & CPV35.
Wonder if they are pre-tuned plug & play.

I wonder if i can get a japanese friend to get it and get it installed into my G here.
Any reason why it shouldn't work on our cars?
