AccessPORT
I'm totally familiar with the instructions, all I'm saying is that for the hundreds of AP's sold, I've never had a single customer, nor have I read about anyone frying their ecu - so I think it's a non issue anda very standard disclaimer contained in their instructions.
As for the custom tuning, customers cannot purchase that software themselves. Only Cobb Pro Tuners have that software (there are lots of Pro Tuners throughout the US)
Cobb offers base maps for a generic mods, but what seperates these (traditionally) from other premapped ecus is the time they spent on these maps. The maps for the subaru's for example are tremendous - we've used them with a ton of different exhausts, etc and they have been spot on in terms of afr's, timing maps, etc. The only custom tunes our customers go for are when they are running larger injectors with big turbo's, etc. 85% of our AP customers simply buy it as a plug and play setup for their basic bolt on mods.

I'm very interested in seeing how well it works for you.

Now on a WRX ECU it works great cause the WRX already has a MAP sensor incorperated into it, therefore any MAF values you change are fine, cause your still getting feedback from the MAP sensor to the ECU making needed changes in the tune...
