Default ECU flashing and Editing Software

Hello,

I have a 05 G35 and I'm looking to see if anybody or company is working on editing/flashing software for the 350z's or G35's like ECUFLASH for the Sti's and EVO's .
Here is a link to show what I'm talking about!!

http://www.openecu.org/index.php?title=EcuFlash

I've tuned a few EVO's and Sti's with this program and works great. The only cost was the usb cable that plugs into the data port under the dash to connect to the ECU.

Thank you,

Sean

if you're looking for a reflash, AAM does them.

(Cobb tuning has been saying that they'll release their unit for the 350z, but I haven't seen it out yet and am not sure when they'll start selling them)

*if you're looking to DIY, the main product ppl use is a Utec...but it costs around $900-1,000 just for the product (no tuning, install)

I want to tune my car myself but not looking for a piggyback system like the Cobb accessport or the UTEc.
I heard many people having problems withthe piggy back systems not truly holding the programs with the ECU changing the maps on them in the long run..

You are misinformed. The Cobb AccessPort is NOT a piggyback system, and it WILL reprogram the ECU through the OBDII port and then can be disconnected. It is due out first quarter '07. Several versions are out for testing/development. It looks like a sweet unit.

depends.. your best bet is to contact Technosquare INC for pricing..

Harware and Software programming support varies depending on what car you are purchasing for.. but i can tell you its well over several thousand.

I wonder why there is free opensource software out there to tune a STi or a EVO but not for a 350z or G35??

No one wants to make it for the Z or G they would rather market it and sell it than make something open source or just an editor with a license you can buy.

just buy a UTEC and shut it! Just kidding.....it is frustrating that there aren't more choices. I am not a fan of mail-away generic tuning. there is far too much left on the table. plus, I enjoy fiddling, that's why I bought a UTEC.

you might want to start talking to people who actually have a clue what they are talking about

You can buy the flashing software from Technosquare - expect a steep entry price as it's not designed for the end user, it's designed for a shop to purchase

It's true. The Nissan/Infiniti community needs something like the OpenPort 2.0 as an open source ECU logging and tuning environment.

There is likely to be free open source software for the Subaru/Mitsu community because most of their cars are turbo'd from the factory and anyone who mods those cars is likely to benefit the most from a tune. That is not necessarily true with a car that is naturally aspirated like most Nissans/Infinitis sans GTR.

That may be the case, but I'd much rather prefer to work with open source platforms.

UpRev is hardly open source as per this quote "Osiris Tuner is a licensed based system. The purchase of Osiris Tuner includes one license that will be transferred to the first ECU that is flashed. This vehicle can then be flashed as many times as the user wants, but the flash will not work on any different vehicles."

But as of right now, most people have little choice.

The problem is this is the most Anti DIY community ive ever seen. People on this site have been so brainwashed that they think their car is going to blow up if they attempt to tune it themselves.
