Default Who wants a good laugh-Read here!

This guy is a supposedly a tuner who is selling turbo kits and this is what he thinks is appropriate AFRs for high compression, boosted cars, with no intercooler, running on 91 octane gas.I would love to hear from some of our professional tuners here about what you think

I think you miss-typed when you said you wanted to prove that you run less boost than we do.

We don't agree on most things, including A/F ratio. I don't believe in your 11.5 number. I think for a normally aspirated smart, 16.5 (as chosen by the factory) is fine. I think as you add boost, you need to add fuel. Generally, with the smart:

5 PSI - 14.5
6 PSI - 14.0
7 PSI - 13.5
8 PSI - 13.0
9 PSI - 12.5
10 PSI - 12.0
12 PSI - 11.5

The Split Second controller for my 4th injector maps Boost against RPM. This allows me to control A/F based on boost pressure.

The table I posted does show too rich and too lean. However, the table was recorded as a base map before I tuned on the dyno. Things look much better now...

I think I get it now, but he stated that stock ( as chosen by the factory ) runs at 16.5? Are you guys talking about the same thing? LOL.

No. I am talking about the guy preaching that running a 14.5 AFR under boost is ok!

Hmm...14.5 for any setup is a little too high for NA. Given all the stress from the components, or lack thereof, that car is a ticking time bomb. Is the car tuned daily for weather variability?
