Default ECU for NA

Hey guys in new to this forum, well actually not TOO new i just kinda read around and soak up information. This is just my first post... SO. I have an 04 non-revup 350z that im am planning to put Injen Exhaust, Injen CAI, MREV2, and 5/16 spacer. My question is basically, what ECU you guys think will be good to go with. I was looking at the HKS and GREDDY Emanage BLue but im not sure which to get since i dont know much about all this stuff. The HKS is alot more but seems like its better. I just dont kno wether i need all the extras the HKS gives. Any ideas on which ECU i should get or if i should get a different one all together would be greatly appreciated. Also i may go FI way later and im not sure if it matters at all because most FI kits i have seen come w/ a ECU (like turbonetics).

PS - i know this may be wrong area but i was thinking, w/ mrev and spacer or whatever do you think short ram intake would be more productive because the mrev and spacer already cool the air down which seems counter-productive if you have a CAI. i really dont know but it has been on my mind for a while and i figured to get it all out in one post.

THANKS IN ADVANCE;
Daniel

i don't know about getting a custom exhaust, but it never hurts to do a little research. but you can't go wrong with aftermarket exhausts like nismo, stillen, hks, ... AMUSE

Get the UTEC, hands down. Especially if you plan on going FI later.

If you've got money to burn, then go with a Utec, as others have said.

BUT, if you're staying N/A (for the time being, anyway), and want an affordable, diy method to reliably tune your car, then get the EM blue. I've been using it for about 3 or 4 months now without issue. I have the injector and ignition harnesses and I can tune all of it myself with the Support Tool software and cable. In the future, I can hook up my WBO2 sensor to the EM and datalog it (along with everything else the EM logs) using a modified version of the support tools software. Also, you can use a Greddy E-01 controller to tune the EM from your dash (no laptop or Support Tool software required).

For the EM blue, you can adjust your injector pulse width up or down, MAF signal up or down, or retard ignition timing. Now keep in mind this is a piggyback system, so the stock ECU will try to make corrections that may go against your corrections, but you should be able to work through it ok.

At the pricepoint of the EM blue (you can pick them up for $100-$150 on the forums pretty regularly), you'll get a good start at learning how to tune and get all the tuning capability you'll need for n/a (except wbo2), but if money is no object and you plan on going F/I soon, then go ahead and get a Utec. The Greddy EM Support Tool goes for about $115 on ebay, but you can get a "clone cable" from a few different people for about $50 and get the software free.
