I've been studying the UTEC manual and trying to figure out how to install shift lights vs. the knock lite. It looks like the knock light output is the same as the 2nd shift light.
So if that goes off without the 1st shift light going off, then you assume it is knock? What if it just so happens that knock occurs at that exact rpm??? hmmm....
Also anyone know if the UTEC pulls that signal to gnd or pulls it up to +12v?
Thanks!

hope this helps..........
As a bonus, a shift light function has been added which is easily programmed by revving the engine to half the desired shift light RPM point and pressing the Program button. If the engine RPM exceeds the shift light RPM point it will turn on a green LED. The KnockLite requires power, ground, knock sensor signal and an RPM signal. The RPM signal can be taken from either a tach signal, which is common on most cars, or even from the points on an older car. The KnockLite is packaged in a machined billet aluminium case and comes with full instructions for fitting and calibrating.

I have LEDs, resistors, etc up the whazooo. I even have the square minimolex connectors that the UTEC uses, so I wired up every connection on the remote MAP switch cable.
I was hoping to figure this out and get some bonus functionality that I didn't know the UTEC had.
Where did you get that description? Is that product designed to plug into the Molex connector of the UTEC (does it replace or augment the plug on the remote MAP switch somehow?)

TXS sells a shift light/knock light.....that's where the description came from.

Thanks Quadcam,
But from the description it really looks like it is designed for non-UTEC users as a full standalone solution.
No one has tapped the knock light output on the UTEC???
EDIT: I made a mistake in 1st post, the 3rd light shift output and the knock light share the same pin (3). I will try to hook this up and see if it works this weekend.
