Default G35 ECU Terminal for Engine speed?

Well.. after looking through the FSM for a 2003 G35 for 30 minutes, I have resorted to posting on the forums. I cant find what terminal will monitor engine speed (RPM).

Would it be the same as the crank position sensor?

Thanks in advance!

we have a CAN system. there is no 1 RPM signal, there are 6 injector pulse signals that are sent via the CAN to the tach.

depending on what you want the signal for.. some people have used ignition coil #1, but their RPM-related device can compensate for the single pulse and determine your overall RPM signal...

For my Zeitronix WBO2, I just used the #1 coil wire (pin 62 on the ECU), and setup the software for one cylinder. The RPMs are exactly in line with my Cipher datalogs.

As for my Apexi RSM, well, it just goes ape$h!t, even with one cylinder engine selected.

You can try a fuel injector wire, you may have better luck with it.

What are you trying to hook up?
