Default nonrevup question...is it possible to get more power topend?

first off i tried searching and i cant find anything that gives me a solid answer to my question...

i have a fully bolt on utec tuned 03 m6. on its best pull it laid down 270/265 in 4th (13.0 a/f plus or minus .01 all the way across). i see alot of cars with less tq put down higher hp numbers. i know some of these are revups which i can understand. my hp hits peak and then levels out at 6k until redline. i have seen some non revups do the same, then i have seen some make power until redline. question is: is it possible for the non revup to make power all the way to redline? i can post my dyno and maps i just have to wait for the bf to email them to me after he gets off work). i was just wondering if there was anymore left in her.

mods: feel free to post a link then lock this if i missed something when i searched. my tuner does mostly high powered lsX cars so this was his first go on utec. i wish we had hp tuner, its cheaper and easier to use!

Power to redline? Only if you add cams and headwork (porting, polishing, bigger valves, etc...) Then retune.

i figured cams would help im looking at tomei and bc...im going to do that in january sometime...cant really find any dynos for a nonrevup bolton and cammed tuned z anywhere to compare

my tuner is gobs better then the local z shop IMO, he is going to let me use the lift and tools to do the cams and then tune it the same day

i am just wondering if any nonrevups continue with power gain past 6k....

Heads are fine they flow 344 cfm, better than a supra head. They just need cams to take advantage of it. 1mm oversize valves arent really going to do much unless your looking for like 700+hp.. Jim Wolf makes some huge cams but they are not listed on the site you have to call and ask for them. They are used in alot of 350z NA race cars and high hp forced induction cars.

I'm wondering if the revup lower plenum will make more top end power and am considering trying it. I know the MREV2 plenum makes a lot more bottom end torque, but for guys revving to 7400+ the factory revup plenum might work.

Of course the cosworth is best for top end power if you can get your hands on one!

edit: headers are very critial for power, long runners and a good collector is key. it seems the best bolt on headers are the crawford ones (i think its crawford? i might have the name wrong).

Hey, I noticed in your sig you have s7 revup cams and a built engine... I'm about to pull the trigger on a build. Do you by chance have any dyno sheets and a list of your mods? Thanks, Erin.

If you have seen that your Z dynos less than others, it is possible that it may simply be due to that particular engine build.

Even stock, they can vary in power output. I had a REVUP engine get replaced due to oil consumption.

The replacement engine I recieved had about 5-8 HP less HP. And no matter what I tried to do to make the plots match, by creating and re-creating the same test conditions, matching the plots couldn't be done.

The new engine simply had lower output.

i wouldnt consider my engine weak at all....265 ft lb tq is pretty amazing considering the tq numbers i have seen on cars putting out higher hp numbers. guess i was extpecting a little more above 6k rpm but that is soon to change....

and let the JDM gods rejoice, i just landed a killer deal on some 264 tomei cams...now just need to score the JWT valvetrain (umm CHADBEE get your booty working!) and ill be good to go!

I had to do it again i would of got bigger cams. With the S7 cams it idles and runs fine get the bigger ones i think they are the C8 cams and then get the cam timing done with someone that can tune with the uprev software.
