well finally after finding some time tonight, almost have a totally solid idle. only roving about 100rpm now from 1000-1100. this is with 1000cc injectors also. almost cleaned it up enough to prevent it from dipping under that at all on decel also. just takes a little time to find the sweet spot. a little more time and it should react like a stock car in all aspects in that range. yes, i will not stop till it is perfect, lol.

hmm, did the copy through on just the timing map from -2 down after making the above adjustments, and this thing is really close to stock now. idle is good and smooth and tip in is really crisp.

I did the copy through on 0 psi and below on the fuel map, and it was great. Then, I did the copy through on the ignition map on 0 psi and below, and it is even better. Also, unlike my UTEC, I can't feel any transition when it goes from copy though to Haltech control.

i am trying to just get my driveability good till i can tune it on a dyno 2 weeks from now. so it needs some smoothing in the transition right now.

The copy through does not utilize any kind of injector scaling, does it? (like a piggyback at no load) Even if tuned in VE?

To the best of my knowledge, the copy through literally copies the exact values the stock ECU uses for those load points, with no scaling.

However, it is making a nice steady idle on copy through for me, even though I have 440 injectors. Admitedly, 440's aren't all that much bigger than the stock 280's, but I would think it would affect the idle somewhat. My idle is perfect with the copy through, though.

Dave, You're gonna have to show me this while I'm home. Sounds like you're really happy with the HalTech. Kinda waiting for a long-term review. Looking to upgrade EMS in Aug/Sept when I'm home for good.

running 1000cc injectors here, so copy through on the fuel map is out of the question. but, on the ignition map (and running 8.8/1 comp) running copy through should be perfectly safe in the vacuum load areas till more dyno tuning can be done.

Hey, using copy-through is cheating...............LOL j/k

Glad you got everything squared away. As mentioned, the Haltech gives a ton of control, and its various maps and correction tables take some time to get used to. Good work!

Yeah, thats what I thought at first, but then realized that with only 440's, it wasn't a big deal, and gave me a great idle and throttle tip in. And I prefer to think of it as "using all available resources....

Besides, not all of us are gods at tuning. My vast tuning experience is limited to one single car....mine. And some reading, but thats about it.
