06z VS 335i

Only thing that turned me off to the 335i (for now) is the computer. Even the best piggy back can't defeat the stock BMW computer (yet). It will continually pull timing to save the trans. No matter what. No one has beaten it yet (but I'm sure someone will soon enough).
Wouldn't mind a 335Xi for a dd round here (damn chicago winters)

They won't own my 03 Z. They will have to have more mods that just a Juice Box. I have shocked a couple of those guys. The look on their faces is pretty cool. LOL

Dyno was done on a dyno dynamics.
Here are my mods:
- k&n drop in
- 5/16 spacer
- mrev2
- crawford hfc
- hks hi power
I ended up getting pretty good numbers... 239.2HP/~275TQ(flywheel)
Engine heat really affected my peak hp numbers, it decreased with each run. So on the last run we let the car idled for 10-15 mins and got the highest reading.
My buddy has an 07 335i with only a Juice Box Stage 2 chip.
He dynoed at 274.7HP/~390TQ(flywheel)
We were all shocked at my buddy's torque... it was insanely high.
Anyways below are the graphs, let me know what u guys think. How are my numbers?
These are my 4 runs

This was my tq run. (disregard the 3 bottom graphs, those were wrong)

here's some Pics of my 2004 Z with Dyno Sheets. In a few weeks i should be able to make 335 owners seriously question the starting MSRP $38,000 they paid..

Real world 1/4mi timeslips say that the 335i is a much faster car.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93664
With basic mods such as a chip, intercooler, exhaust, and intake, these cars are already matching turbocharged 350z times on stock tires. They're also easily capable of 11's on drag radials with light mods.

Unfortunately for Z owners, 335i owners can gain 50+whp with a simple plug and play chip, and up to 150whp altogether with other supporting bolt ons (intercooler, exhaust, intake). It's one thing to compare a stock car to a modified car. It's another thing entirely to compare two modified cars.
I can get a fully loaded 2007 335i for 35k now. They're not priced too bad considering the brand, stock performance, and modability factor.

I can't argue.. LB for LB the 335 brand new vs a brand New Z might in fact be better as far as gains and mods and cost.. IMO this was BMW's answer to kids boosting they're M3's. .It seems like they just priced out a whole bunch of people when introducing the new V8 M3 while bringing to 335 TT to the table creating a new market..

I'm heading out to the drag strip tomorrow with another memeber from your forum.
I'll post my times.

Or for 31k you can buy a used modded EVO or even leave it stock and rape 350z's 1/4 mile and track course.
Get the point?
