06z VS 335i
Just got back from a dyno session with a buddy of mine. Dyno was done at JER in orange county. They did a great job and was very knowledgable.
Dyno was done on a dyno dynamics.
Here are my mods:
- k&n drop in
- 5/16 spacer
- mrev2
- crawford hfc
- hks hi power
I ended up getting pretty good numbers... 239.2HP/~275TQ(flywheel)
Engine heat really affected my peak hp numbers, it decreased with each run. So on the last run we let the car idled for 10-15 mins and got the highest reading.
My buddy has an 07 335i with only a Juice Box Stage 2 chip.
He dynoed at 274.7HP/~390TQ(flywheel)
We were all shocked at my buddy's torque... it was insanely high.
Anyways below are the graphs, let me know what u guys think. How are my numbers?
These are my 4 runs

This was my tq run. (disregard the 3 bottom graphs, those were wrong)

ya you can. dont be afraid of 335i's and e46 m3's. theyre not that fast. over rated cars when stock. heres a vid of my friends 06 z with pop charger, mrev, spacer, and gutted cats against an e46 m3 that gets the jump http://videos.streetfire.net/video/F...ump_119221.htm . of course this is all on a closed course

Stock for stock, the '03-06Zs are no match, but the '07-08s make for a decent race.

Yes, I have. Two of them. A hardtop vert, and a regular. I beat the hardtop with only a few mods, and I edged out the regular coupe (which was stock) with my current mods from a highway roll to 100. They aren't as lightning fast as people claim they are.
Just look at their 1/4 mile trap speeds(101-104MPH), nothing terribly different than what a well driven Z can do.

Well mods change things. I'd be interested on how you did in a run well over a 100.
While driving a stock '06 against a stock 335i, I can make it somewhat close from a dig up to around 100 or so, but on third gear rolls, there's no chance. The 335i quickly gets a few car lengths and keeps pulling. Trap speeds are good indicators, but they don't tell the whole story.
They're not lightning fast, but faster still. Once they get modded though, it's game over. It's been mentioned before, but a Z would require FI to match a modded 335i.

stock they can be beat with a slightly modded 03-06. once the 335i is modded it has the potential to run anywhere from high 12's to high 11's. depending on tune and if he gets the dp's, exhaust, and intake
