I connect through USB and it works just fine. Is the UTEC in the car and powered on, or is it out of the car and you are using the 9v? If the latter, make sure to use a good 9v. I used a new but crappy one and I couldn't connect.
Did you try hitting 'enter' or 'esc' after connecting? That will refresh the screen.
Make sure you know what COM port your connected on. Go to the Windows Device Manager (if you know how to get there), and expand the 'COM' section and you'll see what COM port the USB connection is on.

After talking with JonnyC, I just connected the USB cable to the UTEC and used the autoinstall feature to search the disk for the correct driver and install.
Hooked right up after I set the hyperterminal properties and COM port correctly.

As for the USB connection - did you download the UTEC Zip file that includes the USB drivers? If using a Windows XP pc, when the UTEC is powered up (ignition on) and the usb cable is plugged into your pc, you should be prompted with "Found New Hardware" and then can select the drivers (WIN folder after unzipping the files).
Keep us updated.

ok thanx guys i got connected!
Now heres another for ya haha..
I have version 2.4
Should I update to the 2.8?
Also does anyone have an FI Datalog that I could compare mine too so I can see whats going on??? Im running crazy lean under WOT at full boost and it seems only 50% duty cycle is the highest it goes...BUT I dont go all the way up through the rpms for obvious reasons...but at near 5000rpms WOT full boost im still at aroun 50% dutycycle on the 440cc injectors...

What do you mean by crazy lean? what AFR's are you seeing and what are you using to datalog the afr? Also 50% duty cycle on injectors isnt bad. it means your injectors are sized right to the amount of fuel the ecu is saying to deliver. you should never try to max out injector duty cycle, the maximum I would go for my comfort is around 80%
