Default A bit of help needed: routing a vacuum line

Hi guys.

I need to run a hose from the upper manifold vacuum line to the Haltech we installed under the kickpanel on the passenger's side.

I need to know a couple things to work this out:

- what type of hose/fittings should I use (material/sizes)? This considering that it needs to survive the engine bay heat and to be flexible enough to be routed.
- what is a good path to put the line through without crimping it or otherwise negatively affecting it?

Thanks for the help!

I would use some silicone vacuum hose. Use a size that fits whatever barbs are on the plenum and the haltech.

As for routing, I would run it into the battery box, and go thru the firewall there. It will put the hose in the passenger footwell and make it easy to run it behind the kickpanel. Make sure to use a grommet where the line passes thru the firewall!

I routed mine through the battery box and the factory harness grommet. I poked a tiny hole in the grommet and used wire pulling lube and a piece of tig welding wire to pull it through. Its very tight and I doubt it will ever leak but just to make sure i put a tiny dab of black rtv around the base. hope that helps

One more question guys...

Which vacuum hose you got connected to on the plenum? I think that there are at least a couple there, right?

Thanks!

Does anyone have an answer to the gentleman's question below? How about pictures for a 2003 model?
Thanks in advance!

you can connect it to any port on the plenum. ideally, its best to drill and tap and put your own barb on there. Otherwise, just T into the vac line that runs over to the valve cover on the front of the stock plenum
