Default Cobb Accessport

As far as I know, Cobb Accessport only has pre-set programs, can it input any self tune data into the device? Like data from a dyno tuning shopping?

I can see this should be a good device for 350z if it can be input other data beside the data that Cobb created.

Please let me know if one knows about this device.

Yes. You can have a tune done on top of the reflash. When they tune, they create a map that you can stack, just like their supplied maps. Quoted from their website:

"Mode Switching:
Change mode of engine management for staged performance, fuel economy, theft deterrent, race mode or custom performance."

It also does data-logging.

What do you think about this device compare to the Uprev, I have no idea about these two devices, and other reflash and piggy back device, I am a complete freshman here. Let me know what you think.

I'm not real sure. I've got the Cobb and have heard a lot of good things about the Uprev. They basically are doing the same thing. You're trying to optimize the engine maps to get the best performance possible. There are some quick tweaks on the Cobb that I like. I bumped my idle up and retarded the timing a bit because of pinging.
I know there are sponsors for both on here. You might throw some questions at both. Of course, they're both going to tell you their unit is the best, but you can weed that out and look at the objective points. The only thing that I'm a little disappointed in with the Cobb is the lack of instructions on some of the features. I don't even think most people know that it will do data-logging because it's not highly advertised and there are no real instructions for it. You have to keep the firmware updated because they keep adding features and fixing bugs, which is a good thing IMO.

there have been a few comparison threads here

here's one for a start: https://my350z.com/forum/tuning/4221...is-tuning.html

i'm biased since i have osiris. coming with cipher was a big plus.

what kind of mods do you have or are planning to do? that may make a difference in your decision.

cobb will come around .... but right this moment - uprev's osiris - custom tuned is the best option.

and there are "real" EMS out there as well...

I have headers, test pipes, single apexi cat-back exhaust, short ram intake and intake manifold spacer, stage 1 clutch and lighter flywheel.

The members have spoken https://my350z.com/forum/tuning/4221...is-tuning.html

With those mods tuning would be very worthwhile.

No Cobb does not have the tuning software available for tuners yet. Also Cobb does not support FI on cars that weren't FI from the factory.

Some tuning is possible, but pretty limited right now. See link to their sight.
