Default Install Cruise Control Switch for Osiris

Just to clarify: I do not want to add cruise control to by base model Z.

Has anyone successfully installed a cruise control switch into a base model for the specific purpose of map switching for the Osiris reflash?

I've done some searching but kept getting threads about people wanting the CC function.....

I've called Osiris and they refered me to Turbo Toys. I talked to Tim at Turbo Toys and he said of people trying and some claiming that it works but could not find any further details about what it entailed.

I put up a thread earlier last week about this question. Although my question was about changing the steering wheel with CC.

Specifically we can change it out however CC will not work... I'm not sure if the buttons will work with map changing. From what I'm hearing, UpRev was supposed to develop some type of switching device like an access port or something.

Looking forward to seeing if anyone has input on this?

I've seen a diagram of what it take to build a CC box.

I don't think anyone is going to release the specs because of repercussions from Nissan...

i guess i'll just get the CC switches and see what happens..... anyone know a good source? i'd rather not shell out a ton of cash for something that might not work....

well if you're gonna give it a shot, then you might as well buy the OEM CC switches or a wheel with them, connect them and see if map switching works.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Keep us posted bro

You need both the switches, and the CC Box. Theres a little black (not sure of the actual color) under the steering column from what I can see in the wiring diagram. You need that, not just switches.

If there is a Nissan Tech here, they can probably get the part number and a price?

^thanks for the tip. Regardless if CC doesn't work, will map switching still be possible if we get the required switches and "little black box" as stated? Has this been tested?

Nothing exclusive in the works from UpRev for us base owners?

Per the Factory Service Manual for a 2007 350z

The Automated Speed Control Device (ASCD) is composed of:

ASCD brake switch - Brake pedal operation
Stop lamp switch - Brake pedal operation
ASCD clutch switch (M/T models) - Clutch pedal operation
ASCD steering switch - ASCD steering switch operation
Park/neutral position (PNP) switch - Gear position
Wheel sensor - Vehicle speed*
TCM (A/T models) - Powertrain revolution*

All of these sensors connect to the ECM and output to the Electronic throttle control acuator. I can't find a cruise control module or "black box."

Not saying it's not there just that i can't find it. I also asked Turbo Toys and they don't know of a ASCD module so i dunno. kinda stumped. The only thing i can think of is the VDC/TCS/ABS control unit (for models with VDC). Kinda makes sense to me as only models w/ VDC have cruise control.... I'm sure that unit isn't cheap....

When i talked to UpRev they said they wouldn't be able to make a map switch for non-CC models because of the missing control box.... Hopefully they can verify, it wouldn't really be worth their time to engineer a switch for the few base models buying reflashes.
