UpRev Osiris!
I got home early today to a waiting FedEx package containing my Osiris software and performance tune. I gotta tell you, I am impressed! The "driveability" factor is great, and the most noticeable improvement was throttle response. Power felt noticeably different at the low rpm range and again at the top end. The middle range seems about the same. The programming seems to have really have woken up the car and eliminated inherent weaknesses.
Both my partner in crime (my wife
) and I test drove it and we both have the same thoughts. We did a number of launches, dropping in at 3800 rpm a couple of times, then higher at 4000 rpm, then lower at 3100 and then a few runs from idle. The launch sequences at 3100 rpm had the best results.
So that you have context, our Z is a completely stock car, 2006 base edition with the manual tranny. We keep it as a third car, basically a toy car for weekends and such. Because we don't drive it daily, we are pretty sensitive to how it feels. Especially when compared to the family mobile, a tire smoking Town and Country
We had the flash done to allow for 93 octane gas, wide open throttle, higher rpm limits and better AFRs. While at it, we also removed the top speed limiter. Not planning on going anywhere near that speed, but hate the thought of a limiter anyway!
I am going to try to find a dyno this weekend so I have a more scientific assessment. Regardless, the fun factor went high up, so money well spent. I highly recommend this reflash.
Many thanks to the folks at UpRev (Rich and Jared) for their excellent service!

I am completely stock so I went ahead and got the tune for better "driveability" and acceleration. The tune certainly delivered. I plan on staying stock and buying the vortech supercharger, which is sold for a completely stock motor. I will get it re-tuned then. I am skipping all other mods as I can get the horsepower I want with just the supercharger/intercooler kit. I don't want anything crazy, perhaps an extra 50hp-60hp to liven up the car.
i see, it's pretty amazing that such big difference can be felt even with complete stock setup. i've always hated that 'laziness' of my z and slow throttle response.. it makes the car so unpredictable and disconnected somehow..
so what part of h-town are you at? I go back pretty often.. mostly in Sugarland area

The UpRev does wake up the car. Truly noticeable. Also, I won't be stock for long. I now have ordered and in various stages of shipping the Nismo CAI, exhaust and flywheel. I also have a Quaife LSD and 3.90 gears on the way, so I expect better accelaration before long!
I live down in the clear lake area (south houston). There is a good and active Z community down here. Friendly folks, lots of meets and cruises etc. I just came across them so I'll let you know when there are some events coming up.

i've been to UHCL several time, beautiful place there, closer to galveston too
yea do let me know, it'd be great to meet some fellow z folks down there
I'll be happy to! I have researched the quaife LSD and 3.90 gears and they are a good bang for the buck. I have bumped into some folks already using them and they are more than happy. You sacrifice a bit of top end, but the payoff in acceleration a track performance more than makes up for it. Plus I am not planning on over being anywhere near 150mph anyway.
Good question! I have two reasons: 1- I was not patient. I got too excited by what the stock tune offered and could not wait!
2- with the the uprev software I will run some logs as soon as the mods are installed (hopefully tomorrow) and go for an etune so that it is as accurate as possible.

That way you're use to the feel and suddenly notice a change in power.
