DD's shrivel nut sacks and crush dreams.
And sae correction on a dynojet is like jumping into a cold pool. I can't wait to get back to the drag strip. MPH in the 1/4 don't lie. Does anyone even remember when the dyno was just a tool to tune and show improvement in modifications to go faster when racing. But now its like look at my wicked dyno, oh the internet and how its ruined our lives. I won't lie on my 170 mile round trip to the dyno I shoot for max mpg, that is until..........................

<------gets 30(27 with AC on)mpg on performance map . I am looking forward to getting back to the track myself. It has been a few months and am hoping for another 2-2.5mph on the big end.

Hey man what bolt ons do you have that enabled your car to get 282 hp to the wheel. You say that the church dyno bumped up my numbers, just wondering how you were able to get that number by using a "more realistic" dyno. Anymore power to the wheel is good power =) thanks

It's in my profile...."about me" section. I have run my car on a couple of dyno's. 262 on uncorrected DD and 282 on a DJ. I don't want to sound like I am knocking you, its just that dyno has always been a bit happy, and 1 user on here spit out 280 with just a pop charger which is lunacy. Also like I said I speak frequently with a guy on gdriver who moved from socal and put down 278 on the church dyno and 230 on the same DD that I use. Dyno is a tuning tool.........focus on the gains.

Nah I know man, I didn't say you were talking smack, but I know what you mean. 280 to the wheel with just a pop charger is insane lol. BUT, I would think my results can't be TOO FAR off what they really are =) Gains were nice though, I definitely feel it pull a lot harder. BTW, how is the altitude out where you live? I don't know exactly how true this is, but I know the higher you go the less power you have due to pressure changes. I don't know if a dyno could be affected by it, but is it a possibility? I do understand it's really only a tuning tool but it is nice to see the numbers right? i too would love to hit 300 whp with a DE. that's my goal =). I appreciate all your feedback though

~400ft.....my local track is ~700ft. If I had to speculate I would figure you are in the 255 range on a dynojet.....that is partly do to your crappy cali gas. Like I said I only have the one apples to apples comparison and the difference was pretty staggering, but the Function Tuned dyno dynamics has been making grown men cry for a couple of years now. I have a few things that I am going to add and possibly, possibly headers( I am a big detractor of aftermarket headers on stock head/cams DE's). I also plan to have a new map created on gt100 plus (104oct unleaded) with an additional 4-6 degrees of timing. I don't think I will get to 300, but I would like to make 290 without the headers. We'll see it could be an pipe dream. I am also going to put a 4.08 FD in the car here pretty soon.

Your ET is excellent. No need to back it up with 250 or 300 horsepower dyno numbers. ET shows your skills and the cars potential.

Sad but we have a Top-25 dyno racing thread. Really.

Any idea how base models (w/o cruise control) can change maps?

i.e. Added switch of some sort? I'd be really interested

You would have to add cruise control (not really sure if that is an option or doable), or stick to one map........sucks for the base fellas.

I still get 28-30mpg on the performance maps so.....

Well, why wouldn't it work with some sort of added aftermarket switch? Or possibly just add a cruise control wheel to a base?

I'd talk to uprev, but as far as I know no one with a base has map switching. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen one. They might be able to come up with an effective solution for you.

I see what you are saying, but it must not be quite that simple.

From the Uprev FAQ:

"What about those of us who don't have cruise control? Is there any other way to get multiple maps?
We do not offer anything at this time. If you want to build your own Cruise control interface, we can help you with wiring information."

Doesn't look good, but none the less possible if you really......really want it.
