Related question:

I am building a custom turbo setup and I have a 3" pipe running from the hole in the radiator support to the throttle body. In this pipe I welded a flange to mount the stock MAF (so I no longer have to use the stock plastic housing). The stock housing is slightly tapered on the inside-it starts off around 2.875" ID and necks down to around 2.75" ID, then opens back up again to about 2.875". The 3" aluminum piping I am using has a 2.875" ID all the way through. Is this going to cause tuning problems? I have a UTEC, DW600's and a CJM RFS.

bump.

Vince,
I'm running the powerlab kit getting 326.9whp on dynodynamics. I'm running the UTEC now but my tuner will soon do an Osiris tune and told me that I'll need a HPX MAF sensor. You mentioned that 'drivability' will suffer? My Z is currently my DD. What should I expect?

Just wanted to see who out there is using what and what kinda power and if any, what issues they are having....
Well I am running the PMAS. My Stock MAF was hitting 5v at 4200 rpm with my HKS GT supercharger (stage 4).
Currently at 369HP, 336tq with AFR's at 11.6

hal was over 400hp on this with a mild tune before we decided to do the full standalone so i don't know what the full outcome of the pmas was going to be. prob the limit of my small vortech supercharger.

yea, we have gotten pretty good with the PMAS MAF here. Its just that they are rated at 1000 HP and you start to lose a lil resolution. I was wondering if anybody experimented with some Ford or GM mafs that are rated for 500ish HP.

The most i have been able to get out of a stock MAF is 385ish whp, and that was kinda pushing it to with no head room... That was on a APS Twin kit...

in that case, everyone looking for +400whp must buy the HPX?

^^^ thats kinda what i was gettin at with this thread. The PMAS MAF is over kill for 95% of the people using it. It would be nice if we had a 500WHP MAF that retained a lil more resoulution. Although these past couple months we have done really well with the PMAS MAF's...

I'm running a PMAS and it runs like the stock maf did, I have zero complaints. Vince gave me a base map and I massaged it a little to get it closer to spec but it behaves like the stock one.

Thread revival!

Dynoed today at 373 rwhp and maxed the maf at 5500rpm. Is there a magic way to get the PMAS to work right. I do exactly what the Osiris manual says and asked a few friends who have tuned before and none of us can get it to do anything right with the PMAS. Maybe mine is just defective?
