Default Osiris CAN rewire for g35 2003?

So my osiris tuner won't flash the ROM sent to me onto my car. I saw on the website that 2003 g35 has a CAN rewire from pin 3 to pin 14. Is this the reason the flash gives me an error when i try to upload it? Everything else works fine with my cipher cable and i have no errors otherwise.

I emailed jared from uprev but it was late last night so i'm not sure if he has time on weekends to respond to emails.

Any input would be appreciated.

Oh ya, if that's not the reason for the re-wire then does anyone know what the rewire is for? It doesn't say on the website, it just has a pinout and where to move it.

For whatever reason, the 2003 G35 does not have the CAN pin in the standard location. If your connector does not have a pin in location 14, then you should do the rewire.
Cipher datalogging, etc. still works for the most part without the rewire because that uses the ISO lines, not CAN. Flashing the ECU is done over the CAN bus, so it is required for that.

thank you so much for that answer!

i'm really happy to hear that because I was having issues flashing. I was almost about to call it quits after a few hours of ecu resets and trying over.

Despite working a 16 hour shift and only having 4 hours to sleep tonight i'm going to head straight ot the car when i get home and wire this up!

also, once i put my license on that and upload my ROM to the car will I be able to open and view roms in the ROM editor? It won't let me view them now and it says "license error" when i try to open. I think i have to have the license on my cable first then it will let me do this.

i'm new to this software nad i've been reading the manual over and over but just have some noob questions. I'll learn this software sooner or later!

Also, you have to have your Osiris cable plugged into the computer to open the ROM files.

Another hint, in my experience, if you want to open datalogs with Cipher, and ROM's with Map Edit, open Map Edit first with the cable connected, as if you open Cipher first, it will grab the cable and Map Edit will give you the license error until you close Cipher then disconnect and reconnect the cable. Maybe this is just my computer acting silly though.

thanks for the tips!

i know all software has it's own quirks but i just haven't learned this stuff yet.

So i need to keep my cable out of my car then so i can tune my rom. Interesting.
