Smile Fresh UpRev Tune, 350 HR

Went to Injected Performance in Lexington on Saturday, and Hal really impressed me with his knowledge and ability to dyno tune a 350Z. My mods are Stillen headers, Berk cats, Bassani exhaust, and K&N drop ins. On their dyno dynamics it ended up at 283.7 HP, not a big gain over the untuned peak, but it was up 10 HP from 6500 and up, 5 HP from 2500-3700, and some HP everywhere on the curve. He really took his time searching for every last HP he could extract from the car. The driveability is much improved, and my highway gas mileage even improved a couple mpg. I really notice the power gain from 2500-4000 in everyday driving. It was well worth the expense. On a side note, they weighed my car, and it was only 3130 pounds which amazed me. I've taken out quite a bit of weight, but was hoping to hit 3200.... Sweet!

Nice man sounds like you had a good experience. I'm headed down to Sharif @ Forged on Friday for their version of UpRev dyno tuning. I can't wait. So did you get a dyno sheet you can share?

Yes, indeed. Our revised 06+ Zs aren't heavy at all. Like I always said, Nissan BSed and overshot their weight numbers on purpose knowing that 2 years later they'd then try to boast about the 370Z being lighter, when in reality it isn't. My Z stock weighed 3250 with a full tank of gas + spare. After mods were done, it weighed 3175. Yours is a bit lighter since it's Enthusiast and you have V1 Track wheels (20+lbs saved over 5-spoke 18s).

Either way, I also saw an improvement of 1.5MPG after my tune, which is fantastic. It added not only power, but is slowly paying off for itself. =)

Did you get valet mode?
Valet mode limits RPM to 3000RPM. R/T Tuning showed me how I can use this to my advantage.

1.) Go to valet Mode.

2.) Go into first gear, hold the clutch down, give 70% gas. RPM will hover at 3k RPM.

3.) Prepare to go to Map 1 (93 map). When you are ready, release the clutch as if you're launching, and release accel switch (Enables Map 1) and the car will launch.

If you do it right, it'll preload the drivetrain JUST right and you'll get a perfect launch, little bit of tire spin, no hopping and good grip.

^ That's pretty Effing sick!

Have you had a chance to test it out?

Once you've launched, you have full control after that point I assume unassisted?

Yeah ive tested it like 10 times and my clutch hates me haha. Once you launch its loads map 1 which runs fine. I'm hoping osiris can implement a real launch control so I dont have to switch maps. Maybe hold down the set button on ANY map and itll limit RPM to whatever you set your rev light to?

You did indeed, Valet is different than launch control right?

I've had this tune for quite a while now and I forgot how to switch maps. Can you guys let me know? I recall it has something to do with the cruise control...

Thanks
