i'm curious about fuel temps too. Charles seemed to think it might play a role in my issue running the twin pump since the temp sensor is bypassed.

If the temp sensor actually tells the stock ecu to do something then maybe i could hook it back up and just zip tie it into the tank.

with the increase in fuel temp i assume the fuel tank also increases in temp. Will something like this help stabilise the temp when the bottom of the outside of the tank is covered in it.

I always wondered wth fuel temp had to do with anything. I believe the HR ecus drop the fuel temp sensor.

I have never seen a compensation table in Osiris for fuel temp. Nor any other EMS for that matter. Haltech manages just fine as I said with generic fuel trims though (I don't even use short and long term trims, just closed loop O2).

My guess is that the stock ECU alters the fuel level gauge based on temperature because so much of the fuel would be in vapor phase with a hot, empty tank. Or maybe it prevents purging through the evap system (needs to maintain pressure to keep it in liquid form)?

From my limited research it would seem the most notable affect on fuel temps is the MPG.

Maybe the ECU uses it for the MPG calculation.

Closed loop o2 correction of the stock ECU would be more than enough to compensate for the temps, so I doubt theres an actual comp table but who knows... Osiris unlocks only a small portion of the ECU.

I picked up a spare set of fuel rails/hard pipes ($60 on eBay, for both rails, the hard pipe/bracket, and a damper!!). I have some -5 AN fittings and tubing on order as well, to adapt to the 8mm hard pipe. The plan is to use the second adapter that I had made and install another damper right onto the #1 fuel rail. One adapter will be the feed and the other the return. So now both rails will have identical dampers in identical positions, for a total of three dampers in the system. Pictures and results to follow in the next couple weeks.

I might have a lean spot at 2500RPM, but not sure yet.

get away from the -5 if you can. Do the HR rails fit our cars? It would be pretty easy to just weld some -6 fittings on the end of each rail and try that.

Charles had said that the rail diameter is not a restriction, so that might be another option if they swap between a DE and HR

DE and HR and VHR rails, all 3 are very different.

I was going to use the HR dampers with our dampened rails but the Nissan dealer is telling me that they cannot order the HR damper mounting clips separate from the fuel rails. i have to go in there in person now and look around their parts software to see if i can locate them. without the clips being available for purchase, nobody could mount HR dampers to our rails.

Isn't it just a two bolt plate? Thats the way it looks in the illustration at least. maybe you could laser cut your own out of SS

Well VHR dampers at least, which I thought were the same as HR but haven't seen HR rails in a long time, look like a stubby version of the stock 350z regulator. That's what I was looking at. So they have a bizarre clip that holds them in and it would not be worth making our own way to mount them versus just using DE ones

looking at my rails last night, if you mounted the damper where the CJM is cnc'd, that would fit between the injectors on both sides. you might have to grind off that wiring harness tab on the plastic valve cover, but thats no big deal.

Part number 16603EA in the diagram I posted. It costs like $2. Looks like a flat steel plate with a few holes in it?

looking at the diagram you posted, i was wrong about the VHR and HR being the same damper setup. Its been a long time since i had the HR stuff in my hands. The HR ones look like the damper itself may be the same, but definitely not the mounting configuration. The VHR parts are really what i wanted but I will order a set of the HR stuff to see if it will fit just as well, since supposedly the VHR clips are not available.

Went to pickup parts today.. Mounting clip backordered until 19th. We can at least partially move forward. Next week I am having my sheet metal shop punch out some custom parts. Perhaps we will have to just make our own bracket if it's going to be a hassle to get them from Nissan.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I have succeeded. Today I installed the second damper on the passenger side (bank 1) fuel rail. Then I went for a test drive.

OMFG, the air fuel trace is flat as a pancake! The car runs SO smooth now it's amazing! It runs like it is 100% stock again.

Look at the before and after screenshots from my datalogs. Nothing was changed between these two runs, except for the additional damper. It truly is amazing.
