Lean Spot At ~2400 RPM...What the?

Tuning the vacuum columns just got REAL easy. I am still in shock.
I started re-tuning tonight with higher latency numbers, which I am proud to say has allowed me to get my cruise control working again and not have a backfire on decel! For the full story, see this thread:

But the bottom line is yes, tuning the high vacuum columns is a piece of cake now.

awesome.. well done.
I'm still perplexed though. Take my setup for instance located here https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...rfs-setup.html I don't *believe* I have the same issue. I will need to data log again to be sure but I do not get the stutter/hesitation like you experience. The real differences between ours are the rails, injectors and pump where mine has the cosworth rails, ID725 injectors, 165 lph pump out of the stagea and the swirl jet has not been enlarged.
With the 2 graphs above was closed loop on for both as one has O2 correction listed and one does not.
I will data log mine and post and what would be interesting is if i don't have the issue now but after an upgrade to the DW300 and swirl jet the problem appears.

i dont believe anyone has found much rhyme or reason why some of the cars have issues pronounced enough to notice, while most cars do not. heck, my car didnt for years, and then started at some point later where i dont recall even changing anything in the fuel system. my car has had our stage 2 kit since like 2004. it was a few years later that i started noticing a problem. i built custom plumbing to go with the billet intake manifold, and added the twin pump and associated plumbing and it had no effect at all.
but from this point on, after our first batch of dampened DE rails is done, we will now be retaining all OEM dampers in future products and possibly adding more for some! its just not worth having to mess with!

Keep in mind that even with bank 1 running that lean its still hard to feel when driving becuase it is at such low loads and it was only on the one bank. At higher loads it wasn't a problem. With the 2 damper setup, the car was very much driveable but not quite "stock" feeling. With the three damper setup, it is just beautiful. I would definitely say that *most* people would be very happy with the 2 damper setup - especially if they only had one wideband on bank 2

MX nice work on getting your issue resolved
I can wait for Charles to start pushing his first batch out
I got a bad lean spot in the same area I can't seem to tune out no
matter how much fuel I add.
Charles when do you think the first batch will be available for order?
Would it be a additional piece or would the entire rail need to swapped out for new style?

I'm now interested... like Charles mentioned, I've been trouble free for several years and now a couple months ago I start seeing lean spikes. They usually occur 'near' 2400 rpm but it's not all the time and it's not always exactly 2400rpm... anywhere from 2200 - 3200 I'd say. I can feel during light acceleration it as a slight hesitation and the A/F pegs the upper end of the gauge for a split second. Never happens during medium/heavy load...just very light loads.
So now my question -- for those of us with stock rails (stage 1 fuel system ect) still use these with the dampers or do we need to upgrade the rails and all?

To add dampers to the factory rail for Stage 0 or Basic RFS', I would contact MX, he has a CAD program and local machinist to build the components. We will eventually get to that, but we are focused on just the DE rails for the time being.
For those already running billet rails with the DE kits... what we are making now are complete replacement rails. There was no good way to add dampers to them that we could come up with.
Glex25; first batch should be available some time next week at the current rate. We are making a dozen pairs for now so we can get some feedback. I think 5 sets are already spoken for in backordered fuel systems.

Would this issue even be prevalent with a Stage 0 setup and stock rails? I'm currently using a Stage 0 w/ stock rails and you are basically using all of the stock dampers except for the one that gets removed for the fuel return line...
BTW, no problems with my setup, but I'm only running a measly 550whp...
