Default Losing power w/o a tune?

I just put exhaust test pipes and intake in my car did I lose power over my stock set up? Or am I just not getting all my possible gains out of my aftermarket parts unless I get a tune? I feel like I gained power, but I was told I could have lost power w/o getting a tune?

When you start doing bolt ons your rpm band starts to shift upwards. Also, depending on the type of intake you could gain very minimal or loose a hp or 2. Like with my set up i know low end has less tq and hp but after 2,500 is when the power really starts to come in. But yes a tune will help you get all the little ponies you can though, just wait to till you get all the bolt ons except headers to get a tune. Only get headers if you plan to stay only bolt on. I hope this helps and forum if im wrong in anything (which im pretty sure im on key please correct me)

probably not, I gained after putting my TP's on, not sure how much HP, but my 1/4mile times dropped a little. I would recommend a tune though once you get all your power mods done.

I would recommend tune after TP and exhaust. You've changed volumetric flow efficiencies through your exhaust. Could lead to problems down the road. As well a tune would help a stock car.

I wouldnt say with bolt ons you lose but a tune helps a stock car especially a modded car. i just got a 2003 with all the bolt ons you see in my signature and my buddy has a 2004 all stock and i put 2 cars on him but he got a CAI then a etune and now he beats me by 2+ cars with just those two parts alone. Both cars are auto by the way so the runs are pretty consistent...

This is about the stupidest **** Ive read in a while. The reason you should get a tune after TP's is some cars(for whatever reason), seem to run dangerously lean after taking out the cats. Some a little lean, some more so. Only way to be sure and safe is to look at the A/F ratio.

So what can happen to my car if it's running lean? I just don't want to drop 600 on a tune if my car can run strong and long without it. Any other possible problems without a tune?
