Default Mustang dyno vs dynojet??

aite people..well i want to hear your experiences in your dynos..ok so here's the quick story.. i have a greddy TT 350z thats making 352whp and 318wtq..on a mustang dyno..which i heard mustang dynos read a lot lower than dynojets and etc.. my tuner told me that this mustang dyno reads 20%lower than a dyno jet..so in other words on a dyno jet if the whole 20% concept is true..i SHOULD be making 422whp on a dyno jet..right now im running consisten 9.5lbs of boost.. what do you guys think? true?false? if false what are some numbers you think i may make ?

does it matter? what was your baseline on that dyno before your turbo vs after with FI, that is what matter. Also them using the dyno to get your tune right is what matters.

Ok well im sure you guys have been using my350z.com more than i have..so thats why you have seen this thread over and over..but thing is i just started putting this website to use now..and yea my car runs strong..but thing is it would be nice to know if anyone else out there has had low dyno numbers on a mustang dyno.and to where they would take their car to a dynojet and the numbers would dramatically increase ..i was just curious thats all.

Why don't you just find a dynojet and see what your car puts down?

Every dyno is different and every car is different. Asking people on the internet what their car put down when they dynoed on a mustang dyno and what they put down on a dyno jet will not help you at all.

yea dyno is just a tool to verify the gain after a certain mods or major upgrade ON THE SAME CAR. Each shop can adjust the variable factors on the dyno machine to make it read high or low number.

Let me ask you this, if you own a shop that equipped with a dyno machine, and you made a few adjustment to it so that it inflate about 10%-15% of the actual horsepower, and those results made noobie and ricer owner happy seeing their little Honda Civic making 200whp, would you keep it like that and saying other shop's dyno are inaccurate?

I put down 250whp on Dynapack dyno, 276whp on dynojet, and 268whp on mustang. Now tell me which one is accurate?

Only accurate way to measure horsepower and bragging right is bring it to a 1/4 mile track in my opinion.

ya i knew that every person out there has had their own experience in dyno numbers.but to begin with i wasn't planning on using your numbers to verify what i would make..it was just to give me a broad look at the difference between the both..as a matter of fact im going this Sat to UpRev for a dyno day ..they have dynojet there.so only way to find out is to actually go there myself lolz. but yea your right.1/4 determines a lot in a driver..BUUUUT..i believe that when your on the highway and your going to do a highway run against someone.i feel thats when you should worry about what numbers you're make on a dyno..because it takes little effort to race someone on a highway punch. thats when it its all about what your car is putting to the ground and etc...

+1. Only thing that matters is before and after results. If it makes you feel any better I made 350whp on a Mustang and 415whp on a dynojet.

it depends on the dyno, conditions, tuner, corrections....everything!

You can take a mustang dyno and add correction to it to make your car look like a beast. You can do the same on a dynojet. It doesn't matter.

and if you're new to the site, use the search. Just about every topic you can think of has been covered in great detail and you'll find tons of information. When you don't find it there, ask and you will receive.

Your looking for opinions so heres mine.

Mustang dyno's or any other load based system is more accurate than a dynojet. A load based dyno is able to better re-create real world conditions. Better to tune on also. If the dyno is not set up correctly it can under or over rate just like any other dyno out there. But if set up correctly a load based dyno will be more accurate.
