Default quick question about ECU

hey guys,

i don't know if i put this thread in the right section - mods please move if necessary.

1st question: when tapping onto any ecu wires - can i simply wrap a wire on to the exisiting wire and wrap it with electrical tape? or must i solder it on then wrap?

2nd question: i have a ecm diagram from a 03, is it the same layout as a 05 base?

thanks in advance guys

For the 1st question: I would solder it on then wrap.

For the 2nd question: I don't think that they are the same. Check the 350z-t-e-c-h forum for the 05 FSM.

umm, i think as long as it's a vq35DE non-rev engine the harness should be the same. Go by pin number and not colors though. the vq35 rev up might be slightly different.

always go by pin count though.

as for soldering, you can get voltage drops if you don't have a good connection. I always solder for that reason.

If there was only 1 place you wanted to solder wires in a car. It would be anything affecting the ecu.
