So you have before/after dyno's showing 10whp/10wtq gains? I mean something other than what hypertech is telling you? Or is it more of a he said she said kind of thing?

Cobb no longer offers support for the 350z/G35s, and after working with them to try and gain support for my ECU a few years ago, they were not helpful. They wouldn't even take the time to touch my ECU much less buy one, make a calibration, and almost complete the task like Hypertech. I didn't devote nearly a much time to Cobb as to Hypertech (a couple of calls, internet pestering, etc. over about two months), but I know one member on G35Driver tried to work with them, and they were not receptive. That's all the experience I've had with them, though I do like the idea of their tuner.

That's the general idea. As others have mentioned, there are other alternatives, such as Cobb, but they are more expensive. The Cobb tuner allows you to datalog, along with a couple of other advantages over the Hypertech programmer, but it has been discontinued, and at the end of the day it's still a canned tune.

Here is a link to the Cobb Tuner:

It really depends on what your customer wants. I am selling mine for $350, but if it sells I'm sure it'll be closer to $300, and new they are available for $400-425, though some might be as low as $375 if someone has a deal. I'm not saying it's the best solution out there, but Hypertech is a good company, and the unit is very user friendly.

You know the thread from G35Driver. Obviously I haven't done a dyno on mine because it won't work on my ECU! I've been talking to several people in the MD area to try and dyno/test out the unit on their vehicles before I sell it. I am curious to see the results, and if you know of anyone I'd be willing to go 50/50 on a dyno.

I got the 10whp gain from the dyno on their site, and from conversations I had with the reps I talked to at Hypertech. I wish I could show you a dyno graph.

If he's interested and in the MD/DC/VA area, I'd be happy to! I'm a bit busy this weekend and next weekend, but anytime after that is good. I can also do it this week through the early afternoon on Friday. I believe Cecil County has test and tune I'm going to try and go to... that 350 is welcome to test it on the track as well.
