You can tune both closed and open loop with the MAF tool -- open loop requires that you are logging your wideband (either OEM or LC-1). The closed loop areas you can make adjustments based on the corrections applied by the closed loop ('cor' column). For example if the correction is 1.05 for a voltage step then multiply the MAF value by 1.05 at that voltage.

open loop voltages make adjustments to get the desired A/F. 10% increase in MAF value (multiply by 1.10) should yield 0.5-1.0 downward change in A/F and vise versa.

Any idea why some parameters are not showing when logging in cipher ?

I need to do some logging to get my tune adjusted but some required parameters are not there. Like, CAL/LD VALUE (%) & MAF GM/S (gm/s) !!!

I'm always using ROM Editor for logging. Btw. now it has some new parameters for logging, such as long trims and finally, you can save your logging config so you don't have to "click" on all those parameters you want to log every time. Just update your SW if not yet.

I checked the ROM Editor but still I couldn't find the MAF GM/S (gm/s) parameter. For the CAL/LD VALUE (%), It's showing as Calculated Load Y trace "twice" & I'm not sure if it's the same thing !!!

I ran the UpRevUpdater and made sure that all the files are up to date, But still no change .

So strange. It must be ECU specific. I would try email UpRev.

Unless you're starting from scratch or messing with a near-stock tune I'd avoided updating rom editor. Sometimes they change stuff that basically ****s up the whole tune when loading a ROM file saved by a previous version. If you do update your software, take screen shots of all the maps and enter them back in from scratch on a fresh ROM file. Especially if you're F/I. Ask any pro-tuner that's been at it for at least a couple years...

I've been updating UpRev software at least 10 times in the last 6 months. Didn't had any issue with it and I am F/I. Have absolutely no reason not to believe you, so I must be lucky. Will be more careful in the future, thank you for the tip!

It doesn't happen often (maybe twice in all the years), and perhaps they've tightened their code control. I haven't touched rom editor or reflashed my car in about a year though... glad to have my tune exactly how I want it after so many years of blood and sweat tuning it so I'm afraid to touch it LOL.

Yeah. I just upgraded mine before you posted that warning. Now I'm affraid to launch it. I think I saved a copy of the old version just in case. That is very sloppy coding.

there are no temp comp adjustments available

As for the startup issues that's when it's open loop waiting to the o2 sensors to warm up and switch to closed loop. You need to adjust the maf table to get it right without corrections. took me ALOT of trial and error but eventually got it.

djamps, just wanted to give you a monumental THANK YOU for that tool you developed. its so simple but it makes life SOOOOOO easy for tuning the MAF. i cant imagine doing it without your tool at this point, i have been driving around town logging and playing with MAF values all night and your tool is a life saver!

If you can't keep idle from going too rich, try lowering the minimum injector pulse.

Mine need a combination of finesse on the lower MAF voltages and the cells just below the idle area of the fuel compensation table to keep the RPM's from dipping when coming down to idle. Never had a stalling issue, but the dipping I spent some time fixing.
