Uprev with Haltech
I'm currently using a Haltech which can't erase the speed limiter. My plan is to get a Uprev tuner version to get rid of it but still run the Haltech.
While I'm at it what else is worth while to change that the Haltech can't?
Thanks

Depends on your car's model year. The key is that the original Haltech (Pro Harness series) does not control the dbw throttle. So anything related to that will be out of its ability to change. For 2005 and up, I believe the rev limiter is a soft throttle control, rather than fuel cut. You may also wish to disable some DTCs such as for the intake cams, and O2 sensor control since the stock ECU complains about those when not in control.
The new Haltech unit completely replaces the stock ECU.

I have a 04 model, and the silver Haltech which can't remove the speed limiter.
- Remove speedlimiter
- bump idle up to 900rpm
- remove O2 sensor control
Seems haltech is more impressive to me all the time I think about some of the nagging issues I'm dealing with (read: having to get someone else to fix)
But I've spent so much in bring the car up to accommodate uprev... The boost controller, upgraded maf, and now likely suffering the idle / cruise issues djamps said I would have (rep to him!) with the Jbung on my custom down pipes.
What with that new haltech ecu replacement either coming online or already online I predict the 'old' haltechs will be in the marketplace en masses.
There are definitely things uprev does well and haltech does well and some areas where they are similarly capable.
I guess my question pertinent to this thread is: is there any reason someone wouldn't run both?
I remember a thread where rcdash was having some issues (have to go back and read it but I think it was resolved)- but do the benefits outweigh the risks?
Especially if the other units become more available (the ecu version not compatible with at)... Sounds like a great opportunity to cash in on the best of both worlds!

running an osiris flash with the haltech is only to either shut off codes, adjust idle, or on the 05 or newer you have to use it to increase the rev limiter and speed limiter.
I wouldn't touch a single thing in the tuning section of osiris. Mine is bone stock except the idle change for osiris. Haltech does everything else and would be a nightmare if someone tried to make a tune on osiris then tune on haltech.
If cipher would have been able to get my idle to 1000rpms then i wouldn't need the osiris license. My car still didn't like idling at 900rpms with my ported heads and cams.
