Default UpRev Valet / Anti-Theft Question

Just curious.

Say you are cruising on the highway and you accidentally switch to valet or anti-theft map. How does the car react? (since you are still rollin @ 60-70mph)

Depends on your tune, but if your anti-theft is a fuel cut then your engine will stop running. Valet mode wouldn't be an issue as long as you aren't going too fast or revving to high (again, it all depends on how your tuner set it up).

My anti-theft is where if I have my key in, and try to start the car, it doesn't do anything. If car was running at idle, engine just shuts off. Just curious if it has any side effects like if you were cruising and in gear, because wouldn't the motion of wheels spinning crank the car?

But say for valet mode situation, I'm in gear and @ 5k rpm, and I swap over to valet, which has a limit of 3k rpm, what would happen then? Will my car blow up? jk

But in all seriousness, I'm just wondering cuz what if I am trying to set a mode and I accidentally push the button too many times and accidentally set it into the valet or anti-theft map.

NATS will already prevent the car from starting so the anti-theft map is pointless unless the thief has your keys. Any Z/G I know of that was stolen was towed away.

That said, it's just gonna stall out which is pretty stupid/dangerous on a freeway.

The anti-theft map prevents ignition. You can have key and try to turn it and it will not start. Same goes for hotwiring without key. The thief has to know how the UpRev map changing works. Anyways you would need a key to turn car on to ACC to be able to swap maps anyways, or do a map flash via laptop.

The car will just bog down if you go into valet mod(if gas is pressed it should hit the limiter). Not sure how you would accidentally go into that map but I hope you would not be in front of someone at the time.

Yea but in worst case scenario... just curious to see if anyone has accidentally gotten into this situation. I'm not sure if the UpRev has a failsafe to prevent from swapping into a valet/anti-theft map while in motion, because setting a map is simply holding down the SET and pushing CANCEL the # of times for what map you want. But what if you accidentally push 4 times? would pushing an additional 2 times (so total 6 pushes) cancel the operation since there is no 6th map?

To use car usually the most important thing is the BRAIN of the driver !

To switch map one HAS TO BE STOPPED for a lot of security reasons.
Also in all documentation is stated very well.
So if someone mess driving with CANCEL and so on buttons...better not to complain with UPREV or others ...!
