Cobb accessport compatibility
I'm about to purchase a used cobb accessport for my 03 350z (canadian), and the previous owner of the cobb has a US g35. On zshop.ca they say their cobb accessport will only work on north american 350z/g35 models. So if this guy has one for his american model will it still be compatible with my canadian z?
that is kinda weird, cuz all the subi/evo/gtr folks have tons of support and they love this thing... wonder why they fail so bad with the 350z platform. although we do have tons of other options out there. uprev/hatech/proefi I guess that's enough. the only thing we are missing is a reliable piggy-back emanagement and utec just failed really bad.
Werd..^
Cobb ditched them for the 350z due to demand and the fact that osiris uses no hardware, cheaper, and killed demand for the z version cobb.. thats it. I asked them, talked to Steve.
also, as one who has owned a Cobb AP, ill advise that you can use them and download maps for any car 350z or g35 all models for the given years.. mt,. at, etc etc..what you need to make sure of are two things:
1- that is is unmarried and fully uninstalled from the sellers car.. it has to remove the programs to allow its internal license to be used again.. you can togo around flashing all your friends ecus w it etc etc.. only one car at a time.
2- you must make sure its the model for 03-05. the model for 06-08 uses a can bus data system.. while the previous years used serial data. The 06+ model will not work due to this fact.
thier canned tunes will do phenomenal things to your car.. theres just as many people who knock them ( not aimed at anyone btw lol) as there are people who think thier untuned bolt on parts made their car faster.. lol... both groups are dead wrong
if you have an intake and exhaust and test pipes on your VQ.. your car is slower, period.. afrs suck and its gutless.. but really loud and your friends will tell you youre cool lol.. but a Cobb AP will instantly fix the AFRs and slight timing to put some fuel back into the equation for you when you lean th hell out of your car w bolt ons.. it also helps w the constant target searching of the stock ecu by of course changing targets.. means that you dont get a car that unleanrs its mods like the stock ecu does.
anyways, far more info than you asked for.. enjoy your cobb.

I would totally get an uprev tune but the nearest shop is 350 miles away and i don't have time for that, and Haltech is a little out of my price range. I've got a complete stillen exhaust and CAI so i'm sure the Cobb accessport will provide my car some feel. I've also heard alot of good things from the Cobb so I might just stick with that.
