Default Anyone been tuned with stock Cats?

Hey,
So i'm looking into getting my car by Church Automotive in the near future. My current mods are as follows:
Car:
2006 350z Manual Transmission

Mods:
Stock 2006 airbox with K&N drop in
Plenum Spacer
Full 3" exhaust
UR under drive crank pulley
ACT streetlite flywheel

I do not have aftermarket cats or test pipes. I want to know if there are any folks out there with stock cats and similar mods who have had a custom tune. if so, what were your results? I just want to know if it's worth it with the stock cats. I kinda like the manners of the car with stock cats and I'm leaning toward keeping them on the car.

Thanks

with a proper tune having test pipes or HFCs would definitely help a lot. i would recommend at least getting HFCs before a tune. The tune is not cheap, might as well maximize all the power you can get.

WIth HFC cats you're looking at about 5-6hp and 4lb-ft of torque gained.

With TP you're looking around 7-10hp and 5-8lb-ft gained.

So thats how much you are not going to gain by sticking with stock cats, which is not an issue at all. My friend is tuned on stock cats because he hates the raspiness of tp.

Any car with aftermarket parts will greatly benefit from a tune. Stock cats or not. With your full exhaust your air fuel is probably wildly off and the car needs to be tuned.

I know you're not supposed to post links to other sites, but this thread directly relates so I will

The OP had an 05 G35, 6MT with only an air filter and axle-back muffler. He seemed to be very impressed

^ Both are owned by the same company (my350z and g35driver).

- If you KNOW you aren't getting TP's/HFC's/Headers in the near future, then get a tune, otherwise you'd have to pay for the cost of a re-tune. Tuning does more than just optimize power, can also correct your AF ratio if you're running lean/rich.

I have an 07 with the only mod being a catback exhaust. I use UpRev Tuner and only modified AFR at the track and left timing alone. Before fuel adjustment AFR would peak at 12.2 and go down towards 11.0 by redline. Adjustments I made were to peak at 12.6 and richen to 12.2 by redline.

Trap speed increased by 1.0-1.2mph. Started doing runs at 9am and finished by 1pm, DA was increasing throughout the day.

Used soft launches, ~2.2 60ft times, to try and mitigate that variable.
