Default Amuse Hi-Tech ECU on a USDM 350z

Hi all,

The last time I was posting on the forums was when I lived in CA and drove a 350z. I have since moved back to Korea, and re-united with my supra.

Lately however, I've been seriously contemplating trading it in for a 350z, I had a blast driving around in my salvage title Z in Cali, but hey, you guys have open roads, sunshine, clear blue skies and the ocean right next to you so maybe that's a given.

Long story short, a couple of days ago a fellow supra forum member asked me if I wanted to trade my BPU TT supra for his Z, with an Amuse Hi Tech ECU.

Questions)
1 - Would you guys recommend trading in this 20+ year old car for a lower mileage (and cleaner / less things to fix) Z?
2- I have done some searching on the Amuse Hi Tech ROM. What exactly is it? Is it just a piggy back? People seem to agree it's only for JDM 350z's, is there a way to make it work just as well on USDM versions? I live in Korea and our environmental regulations are next to none, and the car owner says O2 sensor and the what-you-might call the mid section? (the emission part.. forget the name) has been removed. Would this work?

Sorry for the long block of text, I've never been too good at summarizing

I thought the Amuse ROM is a reflashed ECU (similar to what technosquare offers). I'm pretty sure its optimized for the higher octane fuel used in Japan.

Personally, I would keep the supra.

We use similar octane here in Korea, is that all that would be required for the Amuse ROM to "work" on a USDM z?

Hi-Tech ROM is a reflash of the stock ECU, typically a set specification. You should be fine, as long as you use the highest grade of gasoline available. You can also contact Amuse if you want specifics on the tune, the reps do speak enough English to respond, just make sure to mention that you're in Korea so you get a response from the correct reps.

Thanks for the help guys, I will contact Amuse for detailed info, and I will update this thread for future reference.

Also, I am the person who put up the FS/FT on my supra I want to see it gone, there is some sentimental value in driving a Z, especially a very clean one that's been pampered!
