Question 2nd Owner of UpRev Flashed Z - Questions

Hey guys,

I originally bought my 3rd Z from a buddy who had GTM do the original TT kit install and he had gotten the UpRev Osiris Tuner/Cipher software thru GTM. It was a turn key solution where he paid for it and he got his car back all tuned with the TT kit installed. He didn't get a tuner/cipher installation CD or anything like that.

Long story short, I have since gone back to rebuild the motor and the car just fired up for the 1st time after over 2.5 years down thru a long troubled build story. Anyhow long story short, is my builder also is my tuner (he's gotten out of the car shop world but this is his last customer project) but he doesn't have the Osiris Tuner and Cipher software.

Build Thread: https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/4716...enstein-2.html

So I got a couple Q's hopefully you guys can help with:

1. My ECU already has a license on it from the original Tuner/Cipher tune from the original owner of the car @ GTM, as me being the 2nd owner, can I just use the Tuner/Cipher software without issue?

-The UpRev Website did not mention anything about the license not being transferrable between users, it just states that once the license is on the ECU the ECU can be reflashed as many times as wanted by Tuner/Cipher; just that the flash will not work on any different vehicles - so I am in compliance there.

2. Does anybody have the Tuner/Cipher software they can send me a link to for download (or dropbox etc.)? (or ISO of the CD if that's what you got? - my license for the software was already paid for a long time ago by the original owner)

-The only thing holding up my motors break in is my builder not being able to tune (right now it just idles and rev's but we need to get the sucker starting to drive around to break it in for the tune), he has gotten the software off of UpRev's website which I think is Osiris Standard but he cannot modify the maps and all that.

1. If the license is still on the ECU, you can use the cable (+ Cipher) to log data, but you'll need to purchase the add-on in order to be able to modify anything. I believe you can't directly download your tuned ROM off your ECU - you'll be able to download the stock file, or possibly ask the old owner for the file.

You'll need:

* http://uprev.com/secure/management/u...ace-cable.html
* http://uprev.com/secure/management/u...-to-tuner.html

2. The software is available on the website (https://uprev.com/support.php - right hand side)

See if your tuner is able to access ROM Editor, if so all you'll need is a file to modify. Otherwise, he'll have to purchase the add-on.

Thanks Suwaidi!! It looks like only the idle and codes can be modified with what we got access to but that's enough for now as I'm going with a different primary EMS but keeping the UpRev around since the car already has it for at least idle and code clearing

Thanks again for the info and the links!
